Happy New Year!
I hope you've all had a wonderful Christmas and happy holidays and the start of the Roaring 20's, is going well. Sorry I have been a little quiet here but have been enjoying family time, dog walks and relaxing. Here are a few photos taken the past few days. Bluebell's first Christmas with us and wondering what present is hers.
Saying goodbye to this decade, in my favourite place, at home with my favourite little puppy Bluebell.
Just want to take this moment to say a big thank you to all my friends, for the love and support last year. Here's to a new decade and wishing you a joyous year, filled with happiness and adventure.
Wishing you a happy New Year, I hope 2020 brings you everything you dream of and more.
hugs

Quick Hello!
How can that be that we are now into the month of May already!
I have been busy lately and have not had much time to sit down at the computer, but I look forward to coming over to visit you.
Since Bluebell came to live with us, she seems to take up a lot of time. It is like having a baby again.
We have been going to Puppy School and it is really interesting how quickly she learns and responds especially when there are treats on offer. She now walks along quite nicely (most of the time) on a lead without tugging and wanting to rush on ahead and be first.
She is growing fast and will soon need to visit the groomer for her first haircut.
Today is Mothers Day and just want to wish all those beautiful Mothers out there a happy day, you do a wonderful job.
A Mothers love is always with her children . Losing a Mother is one of the deepest sorrow a heart can know. But remembering her goodness, her caring, and wisdom and that wonderful love, that will always be with you, helps a little.
Here it is pouring with rain and very windy, so it is nice to be warm and cozy indoors.
I hope you're having a lovely weekend
hugs

Hello Autumn
Good morning dear friends, ... hope all is well with you all
The change of seasons bring for us crisp mornings, that you need to put on a jersey, beautiful warm blue sunny days and cooler evenings. This is one of my favourite Seasons.
A pretty bouquet of yellow roses was a lovely surprise from my dear husband. Brightens up the room and I like that they symbolise joy and happiness.
Will share a few photos from my week, out on my walks and just enjoying nature and all the beauty that is around us.
The two Kereru (wood pigeon) looked like they were having a friendly chatter to each other, perched on the telephone lines
A Monarch butterfly flying about and getting the nectar from plants and enjoying the sunny day
Waiting to pick up my husband from the ferry, I saw these white ducks, swimming towards the Mallard ducks
It's that time of the year again, when the clocks turn back an hour and will be lighter when we get up in the morning.
It has been so dark the last few mornings when I took Bluebell out and almost seemed like the middle of the night.
Bluebell had her first outing to Oneroa beach last weekend.
Was a little overwhelming for her, seeing so many other dogs taking their constitutions. The next day, she was a lot more confident and got to meet so many new doggie friends. One kind lady walking her two French Bulldogs, stopped to talk and gave us some venison treats to give her. I am sure she will be happy to do this walk again.
Happy Weekend!

Bluebell
Who would have thought a little puppy could bring so much joy!
Since Bluebell has joined our family she is such a lot of fun to have around, even if it did mean lifting up all the rugs on the floor, just in case and taking up all your time in a day.
Had her last vaccination, micro-chipped, and medical check up on Friday and she seems to be very well and healthy. We took her to a puppy socialising class and there was only one other dog, a little Parson Terrier Rosie, so the two puppies had a great time running and playing with each other.
Also we visited a friend Anne and her West Highland Terriers, Jock and Lassie for a playdate.
They are both 8 years old and mature and sensible, so put Bluebell in her place.
Out for our walk around the Esplanade this morning was lovely in the sunshine.
Seeing the sea for the first time was captivating for her and she wanted to stand and stare.
There had been rain the night before and there were some dirty, muddy puddles and guess who walked through them? So a bath was needed to get her coat clean and silky again.
Lastly this photo was so cute, my husband was making a pork terrine and the great temptation of the smell was all too much for Bluebell. I think she was really hoping some of the meat would fall on the floor for her. She did however get a small piece once it was cooked.
Now to go and wash the deck door windows, forgot how a little puppy wants to make them all smeary and dirty.
Do hope you are enjoying the weekend
hugs

A few favourites for February
Hello dear friends,
hope you are having a lovely week
It will probably be the last of the Souvenir de la Malmaison Roses for the season, so I filled a pretty little teacup, to enjoy their beauty and fragrance indoors
Can't get enough of these delicious cherries and they are one of my favourite summertime treats
Little Bluebell is taking up much of my time and brings us great joy. She lives to eat, run around the yard very fast and then sleeps a lot. That is her life at the moment and I am looking forward to the day when she is old enough to come on walks with me. On Friday, she had her first trip to the vet, for a vaccination and to be microchipped so that was an exciting day for her. In a few weeks we will be going to a puppy socialising group, so hope she will be a good pup.
Loving these hot summery days but at this time every year, we so badly need rain. There is a 14 day waiting list, so on the 27th we will welcome the tanker that comes to our house with a load of water.
So now we have to be really diligent with conserving water, so we don't run out.
Have a lovely Wednesday everyone!
hugs
