Good morning dear friends, ... hope all is well with you all
The change of seasons bring for us crisp mornings,
that you need to put on a jersey, beautiful warm blue sunny days and cooler evenings. This is one of my
favourite Seasons.
A pretty bouquet of yellow roses was a lovely surprise from my dear husband. Brightens up the room and I like that they symbolise joy and happiness.
Will share a few photos from my week, out on my walks and just enjoying nature and all the beauty that is around us.
The two Kereru (wood pigeon) looked like they were having a friendly chatter to each other, perched on the telephone lines
A Monarch butterfly flying about and getting the nectar from plants and enjoying the sunny day
Waiting to pick up my husband from the ferry, I saw these white ducks, swimming towards the Mallard ducks
It's that time of the year again, when the clocks turn back an hour and will be lighter when we get up in the morning.
It has been so dark the last few mornings when I took Bluebell out and almost seemed like the middle of the night.
Bluebell had her first outing to Oneroa beach last weekend.
Was a little overwhelming for her, seeing so many other dogs taking their constitutions. The next day, she was a lot more confident and got to meet so many new doggie friends. One kind lady walking her two French Bulldogs, stopped to talk and gave us some venison treats to give her. I am sure she will be happy to do this walk again.
Happy Weekend!
hugs

In the Summertime!
Sharing a little of summer here
I've been enjoying the lovely weather, however it has not been kind to the garden.
The hydrangeas have been beautiful and interesting how quickly they come back after a watering
We have not had much rain to date, so I go out early in the morning or after the sun has gone down to water the garden and hope to keep the plants alive.
Walking along the beach is my favourite exercise. Wonderful smelling the sea air and having the sand between my toes and soothes the soul.
Travelling back in the ferry you often see the yachts racing and maybe these are getting ready for the next Americas cup
Hope you are enjoying summer or if you are in the Northern parts, staying warm.
There has been a slight change of temperatures here in the evening and early morning and won't be long and Autumn will be upon us.
Always love to see the little duck family down at Matiatia where the ferry comes in

Have a lovely weekend everyone!
hugs

I love to be beside the seaside
Not many words today, just some summer pictures taken at Noosa Heads
We enjoyed our short holiday very much.
Surfs up! swimming here was fun with waves of up to 2-3 metres high - here is a little video my DH took
After trying all afternoon to insert the video it did not seem to work for me so will just add a snap
Sandcastles left behind from children playing |
It is amazing how the tropical weather, wonderful sea air and swimming in the gorgeous sea, can do for oneself, we returned home refreshed and relaxed.
The apartment our friends kindly loaned us was on the ground floor of this lovely place right on the beach
The full moon was rising behind the palm trees |
Always love to go away for a little break but so happy about being back home again.
Hope you are enjoying your weekend - we have a long one this weekend as Monday is Auckland Anniversary day, so looking forward to another sleep in.
hugs
Carolyn

The beauty of white
It's that time of the year - the camellias are blooming and I love bringing some of them inside the house to admire.
The other day I told you I was doing some painting - not getting too much done on my to do list....but managed to give these little bits and pieces an undercoat.
An old china cabinet that used to be in our lounge is now surplus, so it is also waiting for a new look. We are going to give this to the kids for their apartment.
This afternoon I should have been down doing some more painting, but have been sitting at the computer and now it is 3.30 - where has the day gone? I hope to show you the finished projects soon.
Before I go will show a photo of the Onetangi Beach - even on an overcast and grey day it is so beautiful. Love walking along the beach in the fresh air, with hair blowing in the wind, listening to the sound of the waves, it can have a relaxing effect and help rejuvenate the mind and body.

I love to be beside the seaside
We took a walk along Oneroa beach on Sunday morning and here are a few snaps of how beautiful everything looked.
I always think, a constitutional, is one of the best ways to start the day.
The sun was shinning brightly and the sky was a pretty blue with white fluffy clouds and the sea sparkled like diamonds.
Going by the numbers of boats in the bay, this was one of the busiest weekends for a long time.
At night looking out our window, there are hundreds of lights from the boats and it is a magnificent sight, looks like a whole new town out there.
This was the cutest little Scottie dog walking along, not at all in a hurry and looked like the day was too hot from him with his black coat. He was having trouble keeping up with his owner, who was way ahead.
Many thanks to all my friends who visit here and for the comments you leave. Also a warm welcome to new followers and I look forward to visiting you.
Hope your week is off to a great start, ~ enjoy the week

Pansies, olives and a walk along the beach
We have had a lovely, busy weekend and this is a little of what I got up to.
It is olive season here again and they were ripe and ready to be picked so that was one of the jobs in the weekend, on the to do list. I have noticed the birds had been making a feast of them over the past few weeks. While there was not as big a crop as last year, it is always exciting picking the olives and having them pressed and turned into bottles of our own delicious olive oil.
I feel so lucky living near the ocean and every possible opportunity it is lovely to take a walk along the beach. Even better now that most of the tourists have gone away until next summer and there are only a few people out enjoying the sunshine and walking their dogs.
Looking out the window on Saturday afternoon, I saw this old sailing ship and had to run and get my camera. Wouldn't you enjoy going for a sail on this old beauty, I know I would with only the sound of the wind, making her move over the ocean.
Busy, but happy and I look forward to coming to visit you.
Blessings to all of you, have a great week
Hugs

6 uninteresting things that make me happy....
I have been tagged by fabulouslyfrench.blogspot.com and her blog is one of my favourites.
I have to list 6 uninteresting things that make me happy ~ so here goes....

1 My three favourite perfumes make me happy Chanel No. 5, Coco and Mademoiselle.

2 Walking barefoot along the beach, with the sand beneath my toes, in the early morning or watching the sunset.

3 Using my umbrella on a rainy day.
4 Going to sleep, listening to the raindrops on the roof.
5 Having a lovely hot bath, listening to some relaxing music and having a scented candle burning in the room.

6. Sitting around the dinning table with my family at the end of the day, having a nice meal and discussing what we had done,
Now I would like to tag the following, only if they want to play along.
I understand a lot of you are busy and this takes time.
