Sharing a little of summer here
I've been enjoying the lovely weather, however it has not been kind to the garden.
The hydrangeas have been beautiful and interesting how quickly they come back after a watering
We have not had much rain to date, so I go out early in the morning or after the sun has gone down to water the garden and hope to keep the plants alive.
Walking along the beach is my favourite exercise. Wonderful smelling the sea air and having the sand between my toes and soothes the soul.
Travelling back in the ferry you often see the yachts racing and maybe these are getting ready for the next Americas cup
Hope you are enjoying summer or if you are in the Northern parts, staying warm.
There has been a slight change of temperatures here in the evening and early morning and won't be long and Autumn will be upon us.
Always love to see the little duck family down at Matiatia where the ferry comes in
Have a lovely weekend everyone!
hugs
Carolyn
Dear Carolyn - Sunflowers typify the winding up of summer to me - I wonder if you ever saw those glorious fields of them in France when you used to visit your daughter and her family when they lived there?
ReplyDeleteThe world's weather does seem to be on the change for us all - I am wondering whether we are going to get another scorching hot summer again as we did last year!
Dear Rosemary, Thank you for your visit. You must be getting me mixed up with Shane, who had a daughter living in France. Our daughter has been to France but only for a holiday. I have seen the amazing fields of sunflowers around Bordeaux on our last trip.
DeleteYes, the weather does seem to change for us all. x
Oh...sunflowers! I feel warm wind from your photos.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your summer, Carolyn.
Thank you Tomoko, and aren't the sunflowers such bright and cheerful flowers.x
DeleteHello dear Carolyne ,
ReplyDeleteOh we also had such a dry summer last year, and I watered and watered to keep things alive - difficult , when it does not come from above . Such lovely photos of your beautiful summer .
Hugs, Dorthe
thank you dear Dorthe and yes, we have the same problem here with lack of water and wishing for some rain soon.

Your end of Summer post with those wonderful sunflowers, beautiful blue hydrangeas and the invigorating sea images is very welcome as today (early morning) I look out of the window and see grey skies. At the moment we can have rain and sunny periods all in one day. Enjoy the rest of your Summer dear Carolyn. xxL
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda for your visit and always good to look at sunny photos when the skies are grey.
Deletelovely flowers and ducks! Hope you get more rain soon
ReplyDeleteThanks Juliet and yes I hope it rains. Have just ordered a tanker load of water and there is about 3 weeks waiting list. Lucky we have another spare tank.

Oh Carolyn.. that Summer is looking wonderful at the moment. We are having back to back snow storms! xo
ReplyDeleteDearest Carolyn
ReplyDeleteIt is always a bonus for reading blogs from the southern hemisphere. That way we can have twice the beauty of the seasons.
Lovely sunflowers. We used to bike along a sunflower field and that is awesome, also how they turn their heads towards the sun.
Last week we biked the day after my birthday and it was 27˚C so that was lovely to be in our shorts for the very first time! Not yet there at real spring time but so in-between this feels great.
Hugs,
Mariette
Dearest Caroly,
ReplyDeleteso lovely to see your summerphotos!
We stil have cold and lots of rain at the moment, but it will get milder in the middle of the week.. So a bit Springfeeling will come !
Hope, you all are well!
Sending lots of Love, Claudia xoxo
Hello Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful pictures. they are a nice escape from the ice and snow. What a cute family of ducks!
Big hug
Giac
That little duck family is sweet. I didn't realize that you were close to the beach. Jess is about five minutes away, and that's why it's so hard for her to move anywhere else. The sunflowers are pretty, and such a cheerful flower. It's so funny how it's Summer there, and it's Winter here and really cold. I have the heat on right now haha.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the February days, Carolyn.
