Winter time is here

 Hello dear friends,

There is a winter nip in the air here and I love this time of the year. Coats, scarves, boots and gloves come to the front of the wardrobe and the summer clothes get to go away for a spell.

Winter is all about comfort food, hot soup, tasty stews and casseroles. Nothing better than a bowl of  hot tomato soup for lunch and warm bread with butter on a cold grey day.
The little individual tins, make the perfect little loaf of bread

Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home
~Edith Sitwell

The night sky and the silhouette of the trees  against the rather ominous clouds painted a pretty picture

Winter is an etching, spring a watercolour, summer an oil painting and Autumn a mosaic of them all

~Stanley Horowitz

Hope whatever the seasons are there where you are, summer, autumn, winter or spring, enjoy the beauty that nature brings
Happy, happy weekend dear friends

Ways to be happy

Do more of what makes you happy!

Plant some pretty flowers

Watch a sunset at the end of the day, the spectacular and vibrant colour palette, painted across Mother natures canvas.

Sundown, over Bora Bora

Every night at the same time, 6.05pm we would sit out on our deck and watch the most spectacular sunset.  We did not miss television at all and everything was so peaceful and calm and we felt so relaxed, watching the sun going down. The vibrant colours and the cloud formation, was truly magical.

I could relate to the quote by Gina De Gorna ~

I love to be here at the beach to watch the sunset ~ the greatest performance of Nature. Like in a theater, but it's free.

A sunset cruise would go out every evening
Can you see the bird soaring around?
Was a romantic way of saying goodbye to the day and the lovely thing about this, ...there was one every day.

There is nothing is more musical than a sunset. He who feels what he sees will find no more beautiful example of development in all that book which, alas musicians read but too little - the book of Nature.
~ Claude Debussy

Hope that you are enjoying the weekend

Looking out the window

Hello friends,

I hope your week has started off fabulous.
Mine has, yesterday I had lunch with my DH and son - we dined outdoors in the Courtyard, of the lovely Tribeca Restaurant, in the glorious winter sun - the sky was so blue and one of those days when you have to pinch yourself, that you are not dreaming.

I want to thank each and everyone for visiting my blog.
Every comment makes my day and brings a smile to my face.

Looking out the window tonight when I was preparing dinner, this was the gorgeous view of the evening sky. The colours were so beautiful and I had to dash and get my camera to try and capture the beauty.
Hope that you are enjoying your week

Beauty in a sunset and the moon

There is a daily round of beauty, for those that make time to look for it.
Last evening standing out on our deck, looking all around, the sight was magnificent.
If you click on the photo, you can see a few yachts out on the water.
With the colours of the glorious sunset out west and then the beautiful full moon rising was one to behold.

Every 18 years or so we have a Super Moon and last night, 19th of March was one of these.
It is something to watch out for, to the people that are still having Saturday where you are.
Astronomers call it a Perigee Moon and it is the biggest full moon. ( It was hard to photograph )

Fall seven times, stand up eight.
~ Japanese Proverb

With all that our Japanese friends have been going through, I pray for strength and courage for them, to get through these difficult and sad times with rebuilding and recovering.
The world is with you.

Wishing all my dear friends a happy rest of the weekend and I hope your week takes good care of you.
Hugs
