I have made such wonderful friends, that if not for blogging I would not have the chance to know.

The weather has warmed up here and feels like we are going to be in for a long hot summer.
I spent some time out in the garden cleaning up and already the ground is very dry and many of the plants are looking very sad.

I hope that you are having a lovely week

A weekend of Birthdays!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.
I did!
The weekend was very special, we went down to Tauranga to catch up with my family and friends.
Our friend Max, turned 50 so we attended his milestone birthday and celebrated this special time at his party.
The next day, 16th May was my birthday and from the moment I woke up, to the end of the day was fabulous. My husband and I started off with a wonderful breakfast at a little outdoor cafe. We drove back to the City and then met up with our children and had a wonderful dinner at a Restaurant called Soul, on the Viaduct.
Looking out at the water and watching the sun go down, was very special.
Another year older, and I often feel how lucky I am to have been blessed to have another birthday.... and you really are, only as old as you feel!

Pink macaroons anyone? My daughter bought some for our morning tea, on Saturday.
My lovely daughter bought me the cute houndstooth coin purse and son the beautiful plate.
Husbands present is a trip for Victoria and I to go to Sydney in a couple of weeks, for the weekend to celebrate her 21st birthday, so that will be exciting.

I'm a little behind in everything, including visiting you all, so I look forward to coming to say hello and to see what you are all up to.

Have a beautiful week
Hugs

Christmas 2009!

How was your Christmas?
I hope that your stockings were full of some lovely gifts and all your wishes came true.
Can't believe it is over for another year!
I had a lovely Christmas with my family and must have been a good girl as these are some of the beautiful gifts my family gave me ~ I was very spoilt.

We had a wonderful Christmas and we did not have the usual turkey or ham, this year.
Instead the kids wanted a Japanese luncheon - we had a starter of scallops and then tuna seared with toasted sesame seeds and salads. All very nice and sat out on the deck and enjoyed the beautiful sunny day and the view. We did take some photos, but the Internet is playing up and my husband sent the photos from his computer downstairs, about an hour ago, so do not know where they went. Then for dinner we had a French style dinner - terrines, pate, cheeses, and salads and macaroons and Champagne, so all very nice and simple.

Of all the days for the dishwasher to stop working! ... Christmas Day should not have been the day. It seemed to have a fault - F7 to be correct, so it was out with the teatowels and chatting as we washed and dried the dishes.

I hope that you had a very happy Christmas and now some time to relax and enjoy the break if you are lucky enough to have some time off.

Have a great week and not long now until we say goodbye to 2009!

Hugs
Carolyn
