Happy May Day

Sending you these pretty pink peonies to say ....

Have a happy May Day

We celebrated my husbands birthday last year at the Ritz in Paris, which was wonderful. We dined in the Grand Jardin, under the glass ceiling and in the shade of the linden trees.
The food was amazing, service impeccable as we had so many waiters looking after us.
The peonies and flower arrangements everywhere were gorgeous

This wooden case was filled with the most delectable chocolates
and because we could not eat anymore, took the yummy birthday cake back to the apartment we were staying in.

The Hotel was beautiful and if you have a chance to indulge for a visit, do it. Oh to be a Princess for the day, and that is what it felt like.

How can it be that we are into the month of May!
Hope you have a happy week

A weekend of Birthdays!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.
I did!
The weekend was very special, we went down to Tauranga to catch up with my family and friends.
Our friend Max, turned 50 so we attended his milestone birthday and celebrated this special time at his party.
The next day, 16th May was my birthday and from the moment I woke up, to the end of the day was fabulous. My husband and I started off with a wonderful breakfast at a little outdoor cafe. We drove back to the City and then met up with our children and had a wonderful dinner at a Restaurant called Soul, on the Viaduct.
Looking out at the water and watching the sun go down, was very special.
Another year older, and I often feel how lucky I am to have been blessed to have another birthday.... and you really are, only as old as you feel!

Pink macaroons anyone? My daughter bought some for our morning tea, on Saturday.
My lovely daughter bought me the cute houndstooth coin purse and son the beautiful plate.
Husbands present is a trip for Victoria and I to go to Sydney in a couple of weeks, for the weekend to celebrate her 21st birthday, so that will be exciting.

I'm a little behind in everything, including visiting you all, so I look forward to coming to say hello and to see what you are all up to.

Have a beautiful week
Hugs

Birthday's!

Birthday's... you either love them, hate them or can't decide.
Every year you get one and there is nothing you can do about that.

Well it is that time of the year again to celebrate the day of my birth ~ 16th May, and I will not tell you the year!
As a small child you lived for your birthday and to be another year older.
As another one gets closer, you could get a little frowny but instead I want to think of how life has been good and I am thankful everytime I open my eyes to a new day.
Looking back on all the lovely moments of the past year and for looking ahead to more wonderful times in the coming year.

I love the flower for the month of May ~ Lily of the Valley, Convallaria, Muguet.

The Lily of the Valley is prized for its delicate fragrance and beautiful blooms.
The meanings of the Lily of the valley ~ a symbol of happiness, purity of heart and sweetness. It is one of my all time favourite flowers and I tried growing some one year and they were lovely in the garden.

To help celebrate my birthday, I am giving away a small gift.
Just leave a comment to say what you like or dislike about birthdays and what is your birth month flower?

Have a lovely weekend
Hugs
