A little Christmas decorating at our place

Welcome friends ~
I don't know where the past week has gone! It came Wednesday and for some reason I kept thinking it was Tuesday... where did Tuesday go?

How are your preparations for Christmas and the holidays going?

The stockings are hung...
The tree has been decorated and I really like seeing it at night when the lights are twinkling.
I will take a photo by night.

Have your written your dear Santa letter and been gift shopping?

We are going out to dinner tonight with friends, so instead of sitting at the computer I should be getting on my glad rags.
I look forward to coming to visit you all in the weekend. Many thanks for the visits and I want to wish you a happy weekend

Hugs

Warmth of candlelight

Sharing Christmas cheer by the warmth of candlelight ~ I love the warmth and glow.
There may be no light more cozy than that provided by candles and the scented varieties makes the home smell heavenly.

Did you know there are 22 days to go until Christmas day!
It seems to have come around so quickly and there is so much I have to do.
I am going to decorate the Christmas tree tomorrow, always a fun time getting out the ornaments that we have made and collected over the years.

To all my European friends who are celebrating Christmas night on the 5th, may this be a joyous time for you and your loved ones.
To all my dear friends, wishing you a beautiful weekend.

Hugs

Cinderella

Every year it is fun to go and look at the window displays of our big department store, in Auckland ~ Smith & Caughey.
This year, it is the Tale of Cinderella and I would like to share my photographs I took.
Apologies for the window glare. With the little dolls moving around and music to go with it, makes for a magical show and takes you back to childhood days, when this story was read to me.

What is it about the fairy tale Cinderella, that is so appealing and children beg their parents to read or tell the story just one more time?
I still love the story of a young woman living with her wicked stepmother and stepsisters, in unfortunate circumstances that are suddenly changed to remarkable fortune. The outcome where the magical transformation, missing slipper and a hunt by a King for the owner of the slipper.

Wishing all those that are celebrating Thanksgiving, hope that you are having a happy time.

Also wishing my dear friends a wonderful weekend wherever you may live ....
to those that have snow, keep warm and cozy and to some of us that are enjoying warmer days enjoy the weekend.

Hugs
Carolyn
