Sharing Christmas cheer by the warmth of candlelight ~ I love the warmth and glow.
There may be no light more cozy than that provided by candles and the scented varieties makes the home smell heavenly.
Did you know there are 22 days to go until Christmas day!
It seems to have come around so quickly and there is so much I have to do.
I am going to decorate the Christmas tree tomorrow, always a fun time getting out the ornaments that we have made and collected over the years.
To all my European friends who are celebrating Christmas night on the 5th, may this be a joyous time for you and your loved ones.
To all my dear friends, wishing you a beautiful weekend.
Hugs
Carolyn
Since I am always wary of candles and fire, I usually just use the tea lights. They burn my scented oils and make the house smell divine. Mom always had tapered candles on the table during our Christmas meal.
ReplyDeleteO, so close now! I hadn't hardly noticed (busy with school things)...I hope you are enjoying the season though.
ReplyDeleteIt will be fun to see your christmas tree, i have never seen a tree in New Zealand before. Gorgeous light, so nice color.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a great weekend.
Hugs

A Lovely meesage today Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteI am trying to get into the spirit of Christmas although it has been a strange time for us all.
I am sure I will get there one way or the other.
Love to you and have a lovely weekend.

Here in Spain, it's a bit different again! The big day is 6 Jan - the Three Kings with street parades, floats & when gifts are given to children!
ReplyDeleteDifferent countries, different customs! So interesting.
Have a great weekend,

Dear Carolyn
ReplyDeleteCandles sustain me!!
When we have friends visit in the evening I always light a candle or two - for me they represent my children who can't be with us!
It's Christmas tree day for me tomorrow!
An outing to carefully select the tree.
Then drag all the boxes of wonderful decorations down from the attic - such a special time.
You have a restful weekend.
What happened with your jury duty??
Hugs
Shane
I love candles but don't light them as I also am very concerned about fire.
ReplyDeleteI use the scented oil plug-ins, during this time of the year I have vanilla and cinnamon. During the year I use lavender, lily, sweet pea :)
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
xxoo

Thanks for your wishes, and I wish you the best.
Kisses,
I love candles. Now that I have our Christmas decor up, at night we turn off the lights, light up the tree and some candles... so relaxing and lovely. I love your candleabra... did I spell that right?
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed weekend~

Hi Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteI love the glow and warmth of candles too. Especailly now, when it gets dark so early here in the US. I think of you and your Summer and think 'what a lucky girl she is'! I do love the change of the seasons though, so I need to make the best of it.
Have a beautiful December my friend.

Christmas always comes so fast and nobody knows how that could happen, lol. Every year I plan to be done earlier with making and buying gifts but it never seems to work.
ReplyDeleteDear Carolyn, I wish you lots of fun decorating your tree tomorrow and have a great weekend!

Julia

ReplyDeleteMay you have a precious Christmas Season!!!
Warmth of candlelight catches my eye and warms my soul.
Sure like it!
Hoping to get our trees out this week-end. Have to do a family room shuffle first to make room for a children's Christmas tree.
God is good and
He'll help us with this.

So, so lovely! I adore candles too, my favorite are Diptyque fig, delicious! XX!
ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteI LOVE candles as well. Somehow, I go through spells where I don't light them at all...what's up with that? But not to worry, this time of year, it's candlelight every night. My little boys love it too. Have a lovely weekend!
Hugs,
Judy
Your blog is like a sensual puzzle, and I just love this christmas post! Thanx for comments & for being there in my blog world !!!
ReplyDeleteAnd don't forget this..... Never worry about the size of your Christian tree. In the eyes of children, they are all 30 feet tall.....
Peace & Love
Agneta, the swed.... :=)

ReplyDeleteYou're right Carolyn, time is just flying by too, too fast. I love Christmas, but it always seems to come and go at a blink of an eye. Always looking for ways to slow it down a bit :-) Have tons of fun decorating this weekend. I hope you share pics of your tree when it's done.
ReplyDeleteHugs and Kisses,
♥Ana
Hi Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteYes, Christmas will be here before we know it. It seems this year has gone by so quickly.
Love your gorgeous display of candles. You are so right, the glow of candles especially this time of year is so special and cozy.
I have them all over the house and love it.
Have fun decorating your tree. I know it will be special.
Have a nice weekend my friend.
Love to you, Celestina Marie
December always just flys by! I love candlelight too but rarely burn where you can see them because of the Man Cub. Usually it's just a scented candle lit on the stove to make the house smell yummy.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend Carolyn!
Hi Carolyn! I so agree with you! I light candles every night, and I just love the atmosphere they create! That's one of the beauties of winter! Have a lovely weekend!!!

I love candles, absolutely love them! This beautiful post, once again, reminded me of that little fact. I went into my "candle draw" and decided to put candles all over the house once it is all decorated for Christmas. :-)
ReplyDeleteI like crazy from the candles. They manage to make the magical surroundings and with little money are able to create beautiful scenery! :)
ReplyDeleteGood day!
Sarah

I agree about the candles... and I love the pictures you posted! I'm not sure if we're getting a tree this year, but I hope to at least decorate some of our home. And nothing is more wonderful than the smell of fresh pine needles...
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a lovely week so far!
Christmas is surely almost here, Carolyn! Last night I was in a place I've never been to before, it snowed when I wanted it to, and the flowers grew on the streets (not beside the streets, but ON the streets) and the trees grew downwards instead of upwards! And I picked peaches from a cherry tree! The most wonderful peaches, ever!!!!!!!!!!! And that's how I know it's almost Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI'm very thankful for our wonderful friendship, and I hope for it to last! :)
I'm here to wish you joy, peace, and happiness for this holiday season, and for the year to come! :)
lovingly,
Charity
I love scented candles too! Christmas is really creeping up on us this year!
ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteSo nice to stop back again and see your gorgeous candles and realize we are even closer to Christmas now.
Hope you are doing well and enjoying the season. Thank you for stopping by. It is always great to see you.
Hugs from Texas,
Celestina Marie
Hmmm.... I'm actually afraid of candles. It reminds my of the spookiness it has in an old cathedral or horror movies :p Weird? Hahaha. It's just me. Besides, it can cause serious fire when not handled carefully :(
ReplyDeleteI'm counting down for Christmas too, here. I know there's not so much fuzz in Indonesia about Christmas, but I'm going to be off to Macao with the whole family. One exciting thing to look forward too. Yey!
