Hello everyone!
I hope you're having a wonderful weekend
On my walk back from having my hair done on Friday, I couldn't resist buying these pretty peonies.
They are only around for such a short time so did not want to miss out.
Every girl needs to treat herself now and again and I am sure you would agree with me.
Another thing I enjoy is relaxing with candle light, makes the room so cozy and romantic
Makes waking up early a pleasure, when you can look out the window to see a beautiful sunrise
Today the peonies have opened up and I think they look like a frilly petticoat.
Happiness is about loving what you have and been grateful for it.
Enjoy the rest of your day
hugs

Busy time of the year
The lead up to the end of year is always hectic and that is why I have not been around here much.
Sorry I have not been to visit you but looking forward to coming over to say hello soon.
The end is in sight for the building work around our place and this week saw some outside steps and raised garden beds in which I planted some herbs, tomatoes and a passionfruit vine in it, so hopefully we will have some rainfall to keep everything healthy.
We have enjoyed having our daughter home for a few days and she left yesterday to go back to her apartment in the City.

Last night we went to Cat Stevens (Yusuf Islam's ) concert and it was wonderful.
It was one of my dreams to see him and when he turned his back on the music industry and gave it all up and stopped performing, did not think that would happen.
The show started off with a background set of a stylised London train station which set the scene well for his early days growing up in London.
Then he invited us up to a mock up of the attic in the family home, where we saw some of his treasures and he shared stories of his life.
All the old favourites, Father and Son, Wild World, Peace Train, Moonshadow and Remember the days in the old school yards, were some of the wonderful songs he played - his soulful voice sounded remarkable and unchanged from all those years ago.
The great part about it, the crowd sang along with him as we knew all the old tunes and if you closed your eyes it transported you back to 1971.
The final song 'Morning has broken' and one I have always loved and played on the piano, was a wonderful end to the evening.
Have you ever been lucky to attend one of Cat Stevens concerts?
Hope all is well with you and the lead up to the end of the year is relaxed and calm.
Will leave you will some pretty peonies and hope your week is going well and wishing you a happy weekend

Happy weekend
Hello dear friends,

I always love flowers and what better way to start off my little note, is with a bunch of pretty peonies, sadly not out of my garden ... wish they were.
Doing jobs around the house has been keeping me quite busy at the moment which unfortunately means less time to sit down at the computer.
After a month away the garden has been neglected and there are so many weeds and things that need doing outdoors.
I am finally getting around to stripping the old dark red wallpaper in the entrance and stairway. It seems like it is glued with superglue {not} and is taking forever.
This weekend the All blacks and the Wallabies face off for the final match to decide who is going to win the Rugby World Cup. We were invited out to watch the game, but as it starts at the unearthly hour of 4 am, may just watch it at home dressed in my pyjamas as I like my bed and sleep.
Go the All Blacks!
Wishing you a wonderful weekend.

Pink peonies for the weekend
I couldn't resist these pretties when I passed by the flower shop the other day.
A perfect excuse to buy flowers for yourself and to do a little photo shoot. Aren't they such wonderful flowers

Tomorrow is the Winter Solstice, the shortest day in the Southern Hemisphere - good news ahead as we count down the days until Spring and warmer weather again.
Thinking of all in the Northern hemisphere as you have the longest day - enjoy your Summertime.
Wishing you all a happy weekend

Pink Peonies
How was your weekend?... mine was lovely, but too short.
I treated myself with these lovely peonies when I went grocery shopping at the supermarket.
If only I could grow these beautiful flowers, they always remind me of a beautiful silk gown.
I was playing around with my new camera and still have so much to learn about it.
Having fun though with it and one day hope my photographs will be better.
Update~ sadly there has been a second massive explosion down the mine. Police have said the explosion was so powerful and ends all hope for the miners.
So a very sad and dark day for New Zealand. Prayers and comfort go out to all the people that have friends and family that were down the mine.

is having a generous giveaway ~ she is kindly giving a wonderful Advent Calender to some very, very lucky person.
24 bags with 24 clothespins, and she is going to fill the first 3 bags, with small surprises.
Why don't you go and visit her and her beautiful blog, and she always has such lovely photographs.
I appreciate everyone who takes the time out of their busy day, to leave me such encouraging comments. It was lovely to read all the notes you left, about my Dads apple tree, thank you very much.
Have a happy week
Hugs
Carolyn
