Queens Birthday weekend

I hope that you had a lovely weekend.

Thought I would post a few photos, taken over the weekend
With having a three day weekend, Queens Birthday weekend I had a wonderful break.
We were invited around to friends for a long leisurely lunch and this was the beautiful table we sat around, with lots of candles and iceberg roses in little vases.
It was such a nice way to spend a wet and miserable day, with a big fire going and having delicious food and enjoying the friendship.
Our friends house is all white, bright and fresh and I am sorry the photos did not come out well as they were taken on my iphone.

A meal cooked by someone else, always seems to be so much nicer and such a treat.
Sonia cooked a wonderful hearty meal and we had a lot of laughs around the table.
This is the view from the dinning room and as you can see the weather outside, was not good, and it was great to be indoors.
Now we are back home again and it was my DH's birthday on the 6th of June. Happy Birthday dear!
So we celebrated with a little drink and I cooked roast beef and yorkshire puddings and for dessert I made his favourite dessert cream caramel. This was delicious and they were all wishing there was another helping.

Sares birthday is coming soon and she is throwing an Online Costume Party.
She would like you all to join in the celebrations and come along and have fun.
If you are interested, go and visit her site
loveleightreasures.blogspot.com
Will be fun seeing all the glamorous party frocks and may see you there.

Hope you all have a fabulous week.
Hugs
Carolyn

We have a long weekend!

Can you remember the carefree days of having fun, flying a kite?
When I was a small girl, my family and I would often take our kites over to the park and spend hours watching it swirl, play and dip, around in the sky.

While reading some inspirational thoughts I came across this memorable little piece.

"I did" said the wind
"I did" said the paper
"I did" said the string
"I did" said the boy.

In reality they all flew the kite. If the wind had stopped blowing or the paper had torn or if the string had got caught in a tree, or the boy had fallen over, then the kite would come crashing down to the ground. That is what life is all about, all working together and doing what we can to
help one another.
I did manage to buy a few things to take home in my suitcase ~ David Jones was having a sale and I picked up this Vivienne Westwood cardi and a pair of shoes.
It is always nice to pick up some duty free products at the airport.

We have a three day weekend, Queen's Birthday { smile} ~ one of the pleasures of life!
Also it is my DH's birthday, on the 6th of June, so a little celebration and some relaxing is what I am going to be doing this weekend.

Thank you for all who read my blog and the lovely comments you leave for me, and for the new followers ~ I appreciate you all.
Just want to wish you all a happy weekend.
Hugs

Awe-Summm Award

Last week the lovely Lavinia gave me this sparkly Award! Thank you very much.

As Lavinia says on her blog,

The idea here, is to list 7 things that make me Awe-Summm.

Don't reallly like to blow my own trumpet, but here goes anyway.
I will try and think of a few things.

1. I try to live each day to the full and make the most of every opportunity.

2. I am an honest and loyal person.

3. I love to help people when I can - I was a volunteer with a reading recovery program in the school. So sad when children were unable to read.

4. I work hard and love to be making and doing things all the time, sewing knitting and making bears.

5. I enjoy travelling to fabulous places, eating different foods and meeting people.

6. Baking and cooking is a thing that I love to do ~ nothing better than the smell of delicious food wafting out of the kitchen.

7. Love to have the company of friends around, sharing fun, laughter, good food and
times.

Thank you Lavinia at ... Birdbathchronicles.blogspot.com for this award.

Now I would like to pass on this award to the following lovely people ;

Rue ~ Ruespeanutbutterandjellylife.blogspot.com

Millie ~ thelaurelhedge.blogspot.com

Tracie ~ mypetitemaison.blogspot.com

Rosemary~ rosespetitemaison.blogspot.com

I hope that you are having a great weekend.

We have a long weekend here ~ Queen's Birthday weekend and Monday off - Perfection.
Quite an appropriate award for the weekend. I can be a Queen for a day.

Hugs
Carolyn
