A few favourites for October

 Hello dear friends,
A little hydrangea love

Where do the days go? Nearly at the end of October and how can that  be!
As you may have noticed there has not been a lot of blogging going on in my life lately.
A lot has been going on here and it's all good. I felt like I needed to take a little break and have missed you all and look forward to coming over to say hello and see what you are up to.
Work continues around our house and today the scaffolding finally was taken away. After the house and the roof were painted it is pleasant to be able to walk out onto the deck again as the doors were only able to be opened a little and to not have the unsightly iron bars everywhere. Will share some photos soon.
Don't know how the scaffolders could listen to their hip hop, rap music and every second word seemed to be a profanity, which made me have to shut the window to block it out.  It was all too much and went out for a little walk, to get away from it all.

A sweet little family of white ducks, so cute

Will share a few photos from around my little part of the world. This sweet family of white ducks have taken up residence at Matiatia Wharf and I love to see them waddling about

It was wonderful sailing home on the car ferry last week. Far away in the distance you can see the Sky Tower and the City of Auckland. The sky and sea was the most amazing blue
Violas, such sweet little flowers

My Cecil Brunner rose is blooming again

Do hope all is well with you all and many thanks for reading my blog and all the lovely comments you leave.

Another evening and the same little family of five ducks
Sending hugs and wishing you a wonderful new week

On my walk today

Hi dear friends,

Hope all is well with you and your week is off to a great start.

These sweet little baby ducklings and their Mama, were standing outside the dairy when I passed by. Often when we have been out driving we have had to stop the car and let them pass safely across the road. There are many signs around the Island telling people to take care and watch out for the little ducklings.

DD made this outfit to wear to an event recently - she looked lovely
We went out to lunch at 'Soul' in the viaduct and had a table out on the deck. This is a great place to look out over the boats and watch people walking around enjoying the spring day

and lastly the flowers blooming in the hanging baskets, always put on a pretty show.

'Savour the moments that make you the happiest '

Enjoy the rest of the week and many thanks for the kind visits to my blog and I look forward to coming to visit you soon.
hugs

Oh what a beautiful morning...

This morning I woke up to the birds singing in the trees and the wonderful sunlight streaming through the blinds.
I really love Sundays where you can sleep in a little later and life is more relaxed and laid back.

DD came home for the weekend so it was a great opportunity to go out for a walk around the Esplanade. This little secret, unsealed road, is a part of Waiheke that seems like it has been untouched for years.

People walk, or cycle,  here and babies are pushed in prams  around this scenic route - the sea looked a pretty turquoise blue and the pohutakawa trees were just starting to flower with pretty bright crimson blossom. {these trees were formerly called New Zealand Christmas tree.

I love taking my camera with me on my walks, just in case I see something of interest.
Near a small creek was the sweetest little duck family... Mother Duck and her 9 little  babies waddling along ~ so cute.

Hope you are having a lovely weekend

Happy December

As the countdown to Christmas starts, wishing you all a very happy week.
Happiness ~ A bouquet in a bucket of the sweetest pale pink peonies in my favourite colour.

Last weekend flew by so fast and before I knew it is Monday morning and a new week has begun.

Simple moments are the best like spending Sunday lunch with our children at a little Restaurant and is always great to have a catch up with family.
Most of Saturday, was spent in the garden tidying up and I am feeling this today as my body feels a little achy. DH water-blasted the outdoor table and chairs and when the weather improves they will get a coat of teak stain in anticipation for summer.
Down at the village was the sweetest family of Mrs Duck and her five little babies and they waited while I took the photo.
Here's to a wonderful week ahead
Life is good!
hugs

What I was grateful for today

Having my Mum settled into her new comfortable home with all her familiar things around her, ... the comfy green lazyboy chair and pictures of the family hanging on the walls. Thank you for all your kind words, in wishing her well ~ means a lot to me.

Daughter came over to stay the night, always great to have a catch up with her.
As we were driving along, we saw all these little ducks and their babies walking across the road. We stopped the car and managed to get them off the road and back towards the water where they would be safe.

I remind myself of how important it is to count my blessings today.
Hope you have a wonderful week
Hugs
