Happy February

Hello dear friends,

I hope you're having a lovely weekend
Don't know about you, but January seemed to flash by so quickly here and life has been busy.

The 25th January, we celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary by spending a night in the City.

We stayed the night in the recently opened SO Hotel,  which is right in the heart of downtown Auckland. The Chandelier in the Hotel lobby is spectacular with many lights and shades.
Waiting for us in our suite was this delectable platter of petit fours, which was a nice touch.

This was the view we had looking out the window, towards the water and as you can see in the foreground Tiffany's was down below.

Dined at the French style Restaurant and had a very pleasant meal and then even had a drink after, at the roof top bar. We did feel a little like 'Brad and Janet' out of the Rocky Horror Show, as most of the people were young.

We attended a wedding, our daughter was bridesmaid for her good friend and was lovely to go to an Indian wedding, a first for us.

And lastly what has been taking up a lot of our time, we have a new adorable puppy.
We drove out to the airport on Wednesday and collected a very cute 10 week old pup who had flown up from Timaru, with a stopover at Wellington. She was so excited to be let out of the crate and we  immediately fell in love with our newest member of the family.
She is incredibly loving and loyal and wants to follow us where ever we go, just like a little shadow.   We are still working on her name ... I like Bluebell, after the Scottish Bluebells, so we will decide soon what to name her.
I had forgotten how much work little puppies are and had to roll up the Persian rugs on the floor, just in case.  Hubby had to pup proof the deck, by tacking up some netting just in case she decided to squeeze through the wooden railings. She has a hearty appetite and watching her walk or waddle from behind is funny and my husband said "she looks like a little hippo"

Wishing you a wonderful new month and hope all is well with you.
I look forward to coming over to visit you soon.
hugs
Carolyn

  2. What a lovely post Carolyn - a special photo of you both, and how charming your beautiful daughter looks in her 'Indian' bridesmaid outfit, and little 'Bluebell', if that is what she becomes, is absolutely delightful.

  5. Dearest Carolyn,
Happy belated 33rd anniversary. A funny double digit number that we had 2 years ago in November. Up to the 44 and 55, 66...
What kind of breed is your puppy? Quite a change in your home but no doubt very sweet.
Glad your daughter got to be a bridesmaid in an Indian wedding. We've been to four and loved it.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  7. Hello dearest Carolyn,
first of all I want to say happy wedding anniversary to you and your husband!!! It seems like you had a wonderful nime in the City. Your daughter was a very pretty indian bridesmaid at the wedding of her friend. And your "little hippo" - ohr sorry, your litte Bluebell!!! - is really cute! I think Bluebell is a wonderful name for your puppy (It's not only a beautiful flower - did you know that "bell(en)" in German language means barking? :-))
    Hugs and happy February-days,
    Traude

  10. Happy Anniversary, Carolyn. What a special way to celebrate your day. The lobby chandelier is fabulous. The Indian wedding sounds interesting, and your daughter looks lovely. Your new puppy is cute. Yes, they are a lot of work to take care of, but the love they give us is tremendous. I've been wanting a dog myself lately, maybe a dachshund. And there's nothing like a Golden Retriever.

Wishing you beautiful February days, Carolyn.

    love, ~Sheri
