Easing back into 2019

I hope that your January is going smoothly and you are easing gently back into life, after the Festive period. Can sometimes be hard getting going, after the holidays.
Took down the Christmas tree  and always feel a little sad when the decorations have to go back into the suitcase until next year.
However, I do love when the house can get a spick and span clean for the start of the year and that is a great feeling.

Have an obsession with stationery and every year I like to buy a diary/journal to write down and plan my life and days ahead. The smell of new stationery is wonderful and I enjoy taking pen to paper.
Always good looking back on the pages of an old diary and it is like taking a trip down memory lane.
Not forgetting a lovely calendar to hang on the wall, to make each day beautiful.

We have a busy weekend planned ... On Friday we have been invited to a wedding,  our daughters friend, who she went through secondary school with is getting married. Victoria is going to be a bridesmaid so there will be excitement with the preparations, dresses, hair and everything.
On Saturday, a dear friend has a big birthday.  so we will be attending Kevin's celebrations which will be fun.

What are your plans for the weekend?
Have a lovely weekend everyone!
hugs
Carolyn

  2. Oh yes, dearest Carolyn,
it was time to say good bye to the Festive period. But I'm starting into the year full of power: Two or thee days per week to the gym (it's not new, I startet my training in Januray 2018) - and on Sunday I'll go to a Free-Dance-Workshop :-)) Hope it will be fun! And on Saturday? May be we go skiing - we have lots of snow here...
Best wishes for your busy weekend
    and hugs from here :-)

  6. I still have some bits and bobs to put away. I have so much stuff so it is easy to overlook things so they wind up sitting out much longer than they should. :) My husband is off today so we will go to lunch. Tomorrow I meet with my craft group. No other definite plans than that. Have fun at the wedding and birthday celebration.

  7. My Christmas decorations are packed away. I decorate just before Christmas and then keep them out until Twelfth Night (Epiphany) as is our family tradition. It was nice to do some tidying, cleaning and getting back into a normal routine. My husband is still unwell with his chesty cold so it'll probably be a quiet weekend for us. Enjoy your weekend at the wedding and birthday party. xxL

  8. I am glad to have my decorations downstairs-even though I don't have them packed away yet. Hubby had an old college friend here for Friday and Saturday and I stayed with my daughter and her three girls. Just hanging out today at home to regroup for the upcoming week of work. xo Diana

  9. Happy New Year to you all. Hope the wedding went well and you may share some pictures sometime. After a morning of pruning apple trees in the Community Orchard we celebrated the new year with a Wassiling ceremony in the orchard. Sarah x

    1. Thanks Sarah, and hope 2019 will be a great year for you and your family. Had to look up the word Wassiling, as have not heard that - sounds like fun.
The wedding was an Indian girl, (a friend of our daughters who she went through school with. It was an arranged marriage and they did not want photos put on social media. x

  12. That is the prettiest rose picture, Carolyn. I love the soft Pink color. I could totally relate to your post in so many ways.....the sentimental feeling taking down the Christmas ornaments, the writing in the journal and glancing at the moments throughout the year, and the joy of a new calendar. I usually get a Mary Engelbreit, but I got another cute one this year. I bet Victoria looked lovely as a bridesmaid. You'll have to show us pictures.

    Have a splendid weekend.

    love, ~Sheri

Isn't January passing by so quickly.
Out shopping today and most of the shops were displaying Valentine's cards and gifts …

Enjoy the remaining days of January.

    All the best Jan
