And so now it is June

I feel like the month of May went by in a flash and it was a busy time and did not get much of a chance to do many blog posts or visit you dear friends, so hope I will get to do this soon.
So now will share a few snaps of what I have been up to.

We had a weekend away with friends in the Hawkes Bay, a good time to enjoy the last of  Autumn days, before winter.

Napier is a beautiful Art Deco City, with wonderful, charming old buildings so will show you around

The first night we stayed in this old Country Hotel, that had originally been built in 1909, for the Hawkes Bay County Council. It is only one of two significant buildings to have survived the massive 1931 earthquake. I like that the Art Deco grandeur and elegant heritage of this building has been preserved.

With the  Autumnal leaves, and blue skies, it really was pleasant time to visit this gorgeous place. Enjoyed lunch at a winery and the tree lined entrance way was really beautiful

I hope you had a wonderful weekend.
We have a lovely long weekend here, today is Queens birthday only at the moment it is pouring with rain, thunder and lightening is all around, so good to be cozy and indoors on this winters day.

So will leave you with some candlelight and flowers and wish you a happy new week
hugs
Carolyn

  10. A wonderful day! It's a blessing to see beauty in the small details. I love art deco. It's too bad they don't incorporate more ornamental detail into modern buildings. I can't imagine people 100 years from now looking at most of our contemporary structures and admiring them. Wishing you a wonderful weekend ahead. :)
