White on white

Hello dear friends,
White roses are always so very pretty and  a joy to have around the home. One of the nice things I like about winter, is my camellia bushes are in bud  so I was happy to go out and pick the first bloom for the season.
I was telling you about the beautiful  monogrammed sheet I  bought in France and it makes a lovely tablecloth for a table.
The  drawn thread work and the embroidered monogram are really exquisite and someone has spent a lot of time working on this.

I would just like to say thank you to my last post - sorry to confuse you but our 25th wedding anniversary was actually back in 2011, when we were there in France.
Looking back through my photos the other day I saw, the lovely 'Rose Cottage' and as I had never shown these, thought I would share with you. Especially if you are planning a trip away and want somewhere to stay just outside of Paris.

We are very happy to have DD come home for the weekend. We have gone for a long walk and ate tuna salad for lunch on the deck. Tonight she has kindly said she will cook dinner for us, so how lucky to have her do this.

Whatever you have planned for the weekend, I hope it is a good one.
Hope to catch up with you all and your lovely blogs soon.

Enjoy each moment dear friends
hugs
Carolyn

You got away with a treasure on linens from France. One can only caress such fine work and think about the hands that lovingly created it once...

  20. Hello Dear Carolyn.
It's Monday here in the states and I just had to pop in to check out what is going on in your world. Who could go wrong with white on white....i love it. It is so pretty and clean looking. Charming.

It is wonderful that you have celebrated your 25th and are adding to it. Tis wonderful.

I hope I can return to France someday, but when I do I want to be able to speak French and understand the customs somewhat better than what I did. I can dream and it's a sweet dream.

Wonderful that you have a sweet daughter that will prepare meals for you!

The flowers are so pretty! Love white. So glad you shared your white on white.

    sending best wishes,
    d

  30. Hi Carolyn, I'm glad you clarified about your anniversary – I admit to having a moment of deja vu and wondering if I'd missed something!

The white table and flowers are gorgeous - how lovely to have the camellia blooming already. Our winter camellias are not always reliable but very welcome when they do bloom in December and January.

  33. Hi Carolyn,

I love white on white. I love the roses. But your a women after my own heart. I love your camellia bloom. Here where I live they are hard to grow. Could be me ;) lol but I have one that hasn't died now for two years. I just love the flower and the leaves shade of green. Beautiful.
    Have a wonderful day!
    Cheers!!!

  35. Dearest Carolyn,
how beautiful your white camellias are! Just gorgeous! And I like the table setting with the nostalgic picture frame very much. In Austria, I'm affraid, the camellias would die in winter. However, at present it is very hot in our country - for the weekend are about 38 degrees Celsius expected (about 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit); that's much too hot for me. I think the moderate climate of New Zealand would give me more pleasure... :o)
    Warm hugs from here, Traude

I'm off to catch up with your posts!!
    Hugs to you,

  38. Bonjour!

Visiting Paris is at the top of my "bucket list". God willing I will get there some day. When I do I will sure turn to you for some advice. I would love the see the city but experience some of the beautiful countryside also. I love your posts giving us a glimpse of France, so inspiring. The french sheet is gorgeous as a table cloth and the white roses & camellia finish it off.

Have a sweet weekend, Edie Marie
