Cottage Le Clos de la Rose
I thought I could show you where we stayed a few nights in a special B&B, at Rose Cottage.
In a quiet hamlet, surrounded by countryside this was a wonderful place to spend a few nights.
The beauty of staying in a B&B, you can experience the genuine warmth and friendliness of the people. It was fun living in a French home and you do not get that staying in a hotel. Also great to talk with the owners and learn so much about the area.
Every night there would always be a big roaring fire to keep the house warm and the glow of candles everywhere made for a wonderful ambience.
Tucked away in the country, this is an excellent place to visit, one hour from Paris and near the Champagne region. The charming home was peaceful, relaxing and a very unique and special place.
As it was winter time when we were there, there was frost on the ground and all over our car when we made an early morning start. The gardens were lovely to walk around too and imagine in Spring it would be very pretty with the blossom on the trees.
Madame Veronique had a wonderful collection of beautiful old linen and laces that she sold from her home. I was happy to buy a gorgeous old linen monogrammed sheet to take home.
My husband and I celebrated here, being married for 25 years.
Madame Veronique kindly baked a chocolate cake for us, so that was a lovely touch
Hope your week is going well
Thanks for stopping by
hugs
Carolyn

ciao Carolyne,
ReplyDeletesuch a wonderful place to stay ! I do prefer the B&B for the same reason you wrote above .
I remember when I visited Prague the nice conversation we had with the owner of the house , and the homemade breakfast ! This year I had my vacation...and in October my daughter is going to marry......and money will go for this , but I'm so happy and so much involved in the
organization ( she is living abroad) so I'm the wedding planner .....
Have a nice weekend
