All in a days work

Hello dear friends,

Have not been around much on my blog - with the lovely sunny weather we have been having, every chance to get outdoors in the fresh air, swimming in the sea and just relaxing is what we have been doing. Some nights we have had a BBQ (DH is a great chef) for dinner with salads and always a nice way to cook outdoors. Bringing in a big bunch of lavender is a wonderful thing and I love the fragrance around the house.

Having the family home has been great and we were sad to have to say goodbye to our son yesterday, as he had to go back to the City.
The outdoor teak furniture which had weathered to silver, from endless summers, got a new lease of life with oil.

The builder came back again today to finish the job he started last week. We have been listening to a circular saw all afternoon  but it is great to have the job almost completed.
Loving the new wonderful floor in the lounge and the hallway, so will soon be able to share some photos.
We are so happy that we are getting there with our renovation job which seems to be taking forever!
Whatever you are up to today... I hope you can take a minute to relax.

Have a beautiful day
hugs
Carolyn

  1. Hi Carolyn! Sounds like you are spending your time doing what is most important...enjoying family! And some little makeovers are good, too. Your teak is just lovely, and I'm sure it's a joy to lay out there and soak in the sun!

    Hugs to you!

  2. Carolyn,
It must be bothersome with all the renovation going on at your house, but before you know it, things will look so much better. It's always nice to get something new and different. I hope the new year is being kind to you, Carolyn, and I am just getting over the worst flu bug. Feeling a bit better.

  11. Dear Carolyn,
Your pic of the gorgeous teak lounge chair is encouraging. So glad you are enjoying beautiful weather and some relaxing times with family. I know you must be very happy getting the lounge finished. It is always fun when a project gets to the point of decorating again. Glad you had time with your kids while home too.

Send some of your warm air this way. We are freezing here. Well at least for us here in Texas it feels very cold and last night we even had a hail storm. They were the size of marbles and so loud hitting the windows. Kind of scary really.
Wishing you a wonderful day filled with sunshine.
    Big hugs, Celestina Marie

It is amazing to see the transformation of your teak furniture!! So glad to hear that your reno is almost complete. Also it is wonderful that you were able to be with your family during the holidays. It always is funny to realize how our weather is reversed. It is cold and rainy here today.
Thinking of you and your ocean, I mean our ocean~

  17. Hello, dear Carolyn! With your weather and the sea and great food I can totally understand you enjoying that instead of being at the computer. It sounds idyllic!

And I can understand how wonderful it must be to finish the renovations. They always take so long and I'm afraid that's why I haven't started some of our projects. I just can't face the upheaval! Although that new bathroom is calling me. :)

Wishing you a most lovely week ahead!

    hugs,

  28. Renovations seem to last forever, don't they? I sympathize completely, Carolyn. I've been in the new place for 2 months, and it still goes on. Hoping for completion in the next two weeks. I'm sick of living with workmen!
