Saumur

So there was a tingle of excitement, while we walked around the beautiful town of Saumur.

Everywhere we looked, there were many beautiful old homes and buildings that seemed like they  had been there for many, many years.
I am reading the story of  'Coco Chanel, The Legend and the life '  and this is the town where she was born on the 19th August 1883.
Here are a few shots that we took, of the picturesque place.
Busy, busy here
DD had a few days holiday, so she came home and we spent some lovely Mother/Daughter  times together...  lots of walking, shopping in the village and taking morning tea at a cafe watching the gorgeous waves of the ocean, and having the most glorious, sunshiney weather.

Thanks for visiting and to new followers and I look forward to coming to say hello and see what you are up to.
Happy week
Hugs
Carolyn

  19. France is such a beautiful country - I don't recall having been in this town. I need to go back and looks at my photos to see. If so, I think we just drove through, which is very possible.

How fun to walk the streets of this beautiful, historical place...with your daughter. Sounds like so much fun!

Glad you are sharing and making wonderful memories.

Have a lovely rest of the week!

  21. Dear Carolyn,

Saumur looks like a lovely French town to me. It brings back memories of our stay in Normandy last year!

You asked me about the cup. It's one of my favourites. I found it at a fleamarket in Delft years ago. The name under the cup is Shirndling Bavaria. The Germans made some beautiful china!

    Happy Wednesday!

  30. Beautiful pictures again Carolyn.
I have been remembering our trip to France last year - hard to believe it was one year ago next week that we went!
I am also reading a biography about Chanel - it's by Justine Picardie and is a very good read. I took it with me on our trip last year and read most of it there...it seemed fitting somehow... the book is wonderful with pictures too. She was quite the story, Chanel was.
