December is here, the last month of the year! ~ I wonder if your year seems to have gone as quickly as mine?
Only Christmas can inspire the richness with which we adorn our homes to celebrate with family and friends. The boxes of fragile ornaments that we have collected over the years, come out once again to decorate our homes.
Nothing can evoke the Christmas spirit better than bright colours, especially the gorgeous reds and greens, shiny gold baubles, home baked cookies, ginger bread, nostalgia, happy memories and the company of loved ones.
Give me the end of the year and its fun
When most of the planning and toiling is done;
Bring all the wanderers home to the nest,
Let me sit down with the ones I love best

We have been enjoying having our children home this weekend.
One stayed Friday night, and the other is here tonight.
One stayed Friday night, and the other is here tonight.
This afternoon we went to watch the Santa Parade on the Island and it is always fun to see the floats, hear all the noise, laughter and commotion with everyone getting into the spirit of the season.
I got a wave from Santa Claus, who must have been particularly warm in his big red suit.

Wishing you sweet things in your life and hope that you have a happy weekend.
I am going to be getting my boxes of decorations out later to festoon the tree and house.

ReplyDeleteHello Carolyn!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post! Every ornament I hang on the true has a memory. I pull out the last Christmas cards from my aunts and mom who are no longer with us and place them with the ones we'll receive this year.
Ahhh, Santa waved at you because he knows you've been a good girl!
Oh, YES, this year has just FLOWN by, I think as we get one year old, the years fly by that much quicker :)
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
