Windows
We were browsing around an Antique shop one day and saw two of these lead light glass windows. We fell in love with them and decided to buy them.
One we put in a previous house, an old house we renovated, which we sold and the other we have in the lounge of our house.
I was just looking at some very beautiful photos of some windows of houses and buildings that I thought I would like to share.
People are like stained glass windows.
They sparkle and shine when the sun is out,
but when the darkness sets in, true beauty is revealed only if there is light from within.
~ Elisabeth Kubler-Ross.
Have a happy weekend.

Aha.... votre maison! great leaded glass... and.... the green silky looking chair too... love that chair....
ReplyDeleteThank you Vee.
ReplyDeleteYes, I love my chair, it has little bees woven into the silk.
The trouble is the sun seems to fade the fabric. I was advised by the Lady where I bought it, not to let anyone with jeans sit on it as the studs could tear the delicate fabric.

Oh Carolyn, such beauties! Love your lovely window....such pretty colors. Your chair and pillow are lovely together. Oh, to be a fly on the wall to see what other treasures are in the room.
ReplyDeleteLove this post...so interesting to see just how light is reflected through a window...and how size and shape can make such a difference to the inside and outside of a home or building.
Have a great weekend.
Hugs, Nancy
I'm in love with your window! And all the windows here. I am always fascinated by architectural detail, when structure becomes craftsmanship. I'd be content to just sit at one of those windows and peer out all day long. sigh
ReplyDeleteAnd why can't I ever get my windowboxes to do that!?!
Thanks Nancy and Bella for coming by.
ReplyDeleteYes, my window boxes sometimes look pathetic and get too dry - I try to get Pansies to grow in them but it is on the South side of the house and not enough sunlight, so they never do very well.
Petunias and Impatiens seem to grow ok and sweet William.
The nice part about the window is the glass is very old and the colours are pretty.
Gorgeous! I love the architectural details that add beauty to buildings. Stained glass is one of my favorites! The leaded glass windows are marvelous and all the pictures are wonderful-thank you so much for sharing:)
ReplyDeleteSooo pretty! I love windows too. I have several windows hanging within window frames in our home. It is a great way to add charm to a new home in particular.
