Five things

This was a great, but busy week and here are a few things which made me happy.

As family is number one in our life we were excited and very happy to go out to the airport on Wednesday and pick up our daughter who has returned from her sojourn in Melbourne.
So there has been lots of catching up over lunches, which has been fun. Here she is modelling one of her outfits she made, on a little photo-shoot a while back.

She knows I love beautiful writing paper and was kind enough to bring home this gorgeous box of Christian Lacroix note paper.

the purple basil I have growing in a pot in the kitchen made the most delicious salad with fresh vine ripened sweet tomatoes, and buffalo mozzarella

Freesias and bluebells, I have in the kitchen are divine and I love the sweet smell that permeates throughout the house... one of the beautiful signs of Spring

I got a haircut yesterday which is always such a treat  - must say the shampoo and a massage is the best. It was so relaxing and I almost felt like I could have dozed off.
Often it seems though a lot of the times I go to the hairdresser, it rains. With the rain pouring down and the wind blowing, the umbrella was of not much use walking to the car, so rather than the immaculate salon look I walked out with, it was more of the tousled look.

Have a happy weekend and many thanks for stopping by. I look forward to coming over to say hello and to see what you are up to.
hugs
Carolyn

  28. Hello Carolyn,

How lovely it must be to have your daughter at home. So much to catch up on no doubt and what fun it is going to be. She looks absolutely charming and so very pretty.

Having one' sharing done we think to be one of life's greatest pleasures. It us just so lovely to relax whilst one's head is massaged and one feels totally spoiled. No matter about the rain.....it is so stylish not to look as if one has just had the hair dressed!

  38. I had a hair and rain episode this morning too. I came early to town to do my hair... It was a glorious Autumn morning when I left home - you know, sun is coming but morning is still fresh and nature bathed in dew - sunny, I repeat (I must admit that one of my shortcomings is never to check the weather it will be "today" ahahah.
When I was getting ready to leave metro I saw lots of people standing by the stairs... it was raining but so much it seemed that it would be long before it stopped. I gave up hair headed for metro again so I could cross underground to my work's exit that is in the other side. When I arrived there it wasn't raining. At all. So I returned and did my hair. Makes one feel beautiful and the massage is a treat announcing a nice week ahead.
May yours be too. Enjoy your lovely daughter and Spring that arrives in your neck of the woods (we'll hold rain on this side it seems),
    Teresa

  39. Catching up over lunches is always a good idea and the dress your daughter made is so pretty (and the notepaper too!) The number of times I have been caught out by a rain shower on leaving the hairdresser's too. Well this is England with its unpredictable weather I suppose!
Thank you so much for popping over to my blog and for your lovely comment - much appreciated!
