We had such a fabulous night out at the concert and will share a few photos that I took while waiting for the show to start. Apologies that they are not the best photos
Brian May and Roger Taylor are such legends and any band that was formed in the 1970's and still going strong today I find amazing. They had only planned one concert here in Auckland and when it was a sell out they did an extra concert, the following night.
The highlight for me was when Brian May played a lovely solo acoustic version of 'Love of my life' that also featured a very moving video clip of Freddie Mercury singing and then with the audience all singing along.
had to buy the tee-shirt |
What is a Queen concert without some flamboyant outfits?
Adam Lambert had about eight costume changes and was a great showman for the band and had an amazing voice.
It was a perfect mix of paying homage to the past while bringing a fresh new take to all their great songs.
I wish you a happy day
hugs
Carolyn

How fun, Carolyn! I love Queen! I sing loudly along every time I hear them on the radio...to the great dismay of my children ! I say Adam Lambert years ago on American Idol and he was fabulous. I am sure you saw quite a show! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn, sounds like you had a wonderful time and a night to remember. Bands from the 70's still around are amazing and an honor to good music that stands the test of time.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are great and you got a special tee shirt too.
Thanks for sharing.
Have a great weekend.
Hugs and Blessings

I was waiting for this one! I love that they incorporated the past into the performance and I think that Adam Lambert is the perfect new front man for the group as he does have such a strong voice. So glad you enjoyed the show friend! Wishing you a lovely weekend! Nicole xo
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like fun. When I was in middle school, a group of teachers and kids got together to learn "Bohemian Rhapsody" and we sang it in front of the whole school. It was silly fun. :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a good time! It sounds amazing - wonderful memories, too. The amphitheater looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteHugs xo

So glad to read your post about the Queen concert in Auckland! :-)
ReplyDeleteWish I could have been there. I know the shows were a real hit down under!
Adam is such a flamboyant character and a perfect front man.
It's great to be back blogging again, I have been away too long missing some great posts and friends.
Best wishes,
Jo May. xx
What a wonderful treat for you Carolyn! I love that group has moved forward but they also haven't forgotten Freddie Mercury. Adam Lambert is a talented showman as well. Happy weekend!

Dearest Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to read that you liked the concert! I confess, I was a bit skeptical if the band works without Freddy.
Now I told my hubby that we can go to the concert if Queen ever will come to Austria - because "Carolyn liked it" :o)
Lots of hug to you, Traude
