Ring a ring of Roses

Roses, who can resist the sweet smell and pure happiness they bring?
When I am grocery shopping I often like to come home with a bunch of flowers and is a good opportunity to get out the camera and take a few photos.

Alice with Roses ~ from an illustrated "Alice in Wonderland"
Mabel Lucie Attwell 1879-1964

I have always enjoyed reading this poem from Alice in Wonderland and it is true the phrase ;
the extra special powers that flowers can have on us.
There is something about roses, that makes me feel feminine and happy.

Cats and rabbits
Would reside in fancy little houses
And be dressed in shoes and hats and trousers
In a world of my own

All the flowers
Would have very extra special powers
They would sit and talk to me for hours
When I'm lonely in a world of my own

There'd be new birds
Lots of nice and friendly howdy-do birds
Everyone would have a dozen bluebirds
Within that world of my own

I could listen to a babbling brook
And hear a song that I could understand
I keep wishing it could be that way
Because my world would be a wonderland

My dear friends, have a lovely week
Hugs

The Mad Hatter and thank you

When Johnny Depp did some research, to play the part of the Hatter, he found that there was a thing called Hatters Disease. Basically, because they used a very toxic substance to glue the hats together which involved a lot of mercury, they ended up being poisoned.
And this poison would manifest in different ways with personality disorders, tourettes-like syndrome and made some even darker and weirder.
There was an orange tint to the actual stuff, hence how the orange hair and face comes about.

If you want to go and check out the interview go to

He talks about changing nappies and the Wiggles DVD ~ don't you love that.

My daughter saw the movie last night and enjoyed it. She said what was special, was the 3 -D effect. ( She loved the cat with his huge eyes.)

I got this sweet gift from the very lovely Christina from ~
icandychristinaj.blogspot.com ~ go and visit her blog.
A very lovely journal with special envelopes and places to hide things and even a set of cute Teddy bear buttons. Thank you Christina, your gift made my day.

I hope that you are all having a wonderful weekend, I am and seem to have been busy, the Landrover was full up, (could not have got any more in ) with moving all daughters Fashion clothes rails and boxes of fabrics and things back home.
I look forward to coming to visit you all soon.

Hugs

Blog costume party

It is Sares birthday of loveleightreasures.blogspot.com and she has invited me to her Costume Party.
We arrived at the magnificent Chanel staircase, don't you love all the beautiful white flowers.
The table is all set and I am sure the food will be wonderful.

A glass of Champagne to toast the Birthday Girl!
I have choosen an Alice in Wonderland Costume.

How was Alice to know the innocent little bottle would make her grow to such a size?
As Helmet Lang watched from the outside, she curled her legs up and hoped the designers dress wouldn't be crushed.
Dress from Helmut Lang. ( isn't the dress cute)

I love the book Alice in Wonderland and enjoyed the part where Alice falls down the rabbit hole into a fantasy world populated by peculiar and anthropomorhic creatures.
Have a very happy birthday Sares and many thanks for inviting me to your Party.
Be sure to go and wish Sares a happy birthday and meet all the other party goers.

Hugs
Carolyn
