Valentines day

Valentines day is here and even if you are not the romantic type, it is always great to acknowledge those near and dear to you and let them know how much they matter to you, in your life.
Showing love comes in its many forms, from loving ourselves to treating our fellow human beings with love and respect.
Lately walking into the supermarket and shops, everywhere you look you can't escape the overload of red and pink everything, from hearts, flowers, chocolates and soft toys, to a beautiful scented candle.
The day has become so commercialized and rather than one day a year, we need to show love and kindness everyday.

Rather than the overpriced flowers and restaurants, I consider it far nicer staying in and cooking a lovely meal and that is what we will be doing.
I did pick up a bouquet of red roses because they looked so pretty and the cards are still on the mantle from our anniversary

Have a wonderful weekend
hugs

Red roses ~ oh such happiness they bring

Why do we love roses so much?
They are not blooms from the garden, but my DH surprised me and brightened up my day when he came home with these pretty red roses.

As I said life can change from one day to the next and life is so precious.
My heartfelt thanks for all your thoughtful well wishes. We are very grateful for your kind and caring comments you left for Donald and our family.
It is comforting to know that others care.
Who would have thought when we started blogging, we would meet beautiful and kind people, from all around the world!

Donald is doing okay and today had a skin graft operation which went well and he is now resting  back in the ward.
We hope the healing process can continue for him, on the road to recovery, so he will be out of hospital and home again soon.

the pessimist stares at the thorns, oblivious to the rose

Sorry I have not been around much in the blog world - I look forward to coming over to visit you soon.
Would also like to say thank you to new followers and for those that visit my little place here.

Hope you are having a fantastic week

Sweet things

Some days, it just has to be roses

Happy week!

I hope that you are all having a lovely week ~ I am sending my dear friends some red roses.

How did we get on before the Internet?
From about 5pm last night I have been able to send emails, but not receive them.
The service has been down and I imagine there are many irate people not able to do their work.
I have just been greeted with 353 emails in my Inbox, Grrr!... most of which have already been sent through before. So now I will have to go through and sort them all out.
I do hope that they will be able to fix this problem soon and have us all back on line again.

Senescent comes to us all and I was surprised when I went for a check up at the Optician to find that my long distant sight was not as good as it was. Reading the chart was all a wee bit blurry.
I have never had to wear spectacles for driving but that now needs to change.
For a while, I have had to wear glasses when I read, sew my bears or do needlework.
These are the eyewear that I like ~ do you like these? I will probably go with the black or the dark brown.

I quite like these ones too .... which ones if any, do you like? I did have a pair of these Cats eye glasses about 15 years ago.

Enjoy the rest of the week.
Hugs
Carolyn
