Few people know his identity, but his Art work is famous around the world.
The mysterious, artistic genius, should be about 40 years old now and comes from Bristol.
When the Exhibition came to Auckland recently, my daughter and I went along to see his work.
Many paintings were on display including the well known Balloon Girl painting which depicts a young girl letting go of a red heart shaped balloon. So will now share a few paintings that I liked

The one with the ballon is surely most famous. Kate Moss remids me so much of Marlin Monroe on this painting!

ReplyDeleteI have seen his work in Bethlehem as he is a big supporter of the Palestinian people. A friend has stayed at his hotel there and says it is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI have seen his work on the walls in Bristol and Cheltenham - it is very surprising in this day and age with social media, cameras everywhere etc. that he has managed successfully to keep his identity private. He must have some very loyal friends and family.

No, I haven't seen any of his art in the flesh (so to speak) just in magazines or blog articles, and occasionally on the TV. I've always liked the balloon girl one.

That's very interesting that the exhibition came to Auckland. We tried to go to it when it was initially in Bristol many years ago, but the queue wound around many streets so we gave up! Bristol has many Banksy artworks around the city, it is exciting when you discover another one. Sarah x
