A few surprises

When I visited Auckland City on Friday,  with an hour to spare I decided to go for an explore, with my camera.
I never tire of strolling aimlessly around and for all the little surprises that you may get to see

Bringing mid-winter carnival fun to Aotea Square, an Ice Rink has been set up and a family of Polar Bears set the scene, giving an icy winter atmosphere.

The planets are aligned, in the shop window of Louis Vuitton to celebrate the winter Solstice

I love to see the old architecture which is much more interesting than a lot of the modern style office buildings

This day is a journey, this very moment an adventure

Today we have a rainy day which is typical of our weather here for winter. Going out to collect the mail this morning, there were two tuis in the trees who were singing loudly and seemed very happy to be playing in the rain.
The years shortest day has been and now we will move towards Spring.
Thanks for dropping by the blog today and hope you are enjoying the week.
Almost the weekend, hope you have a happy one.

  21. I love exploring in my city, and it's very fun to look at photos that people take of theirs. The winter display of polar bears is so cute. I am still amazed when I read your blog ands realize it's winter in another part of the world. Thanks for sharing your observations.

  22. Hello, Carolyn,
I see, your strolling had to be enjoyable with your camera. The shop window of Louis Vuitton is something exciting. I had to enlarged the photo to enjoy it more and smile! Happy day for you!

  23. Hello Carolyn,
What a funny creations of different animals. Very special.

    Kind regards,

  24. Dearest Carolyn,
the polar bear sculptures look very pretty and interesting! For me it's funny to read about an "icy winter atmosphere", because I'm sitting here in a darkened room and try to cool me with the fan. Yesterday it was 32 degrees Celsius here in Eastern Austria and very humid. During the night it rained and today, fortunately, it is not quite as hot. I send you a little warmth and sunshine to New Zealand!
Cordial Sunday-greetings and hugs, my dear!

  25. Oh how I love to explore cities with a camera in hand walking too! The sculptures are beautiful and the reflection through the planets is captivating to the eye. Rainy season has just started in India, wish you a great day Carolyn!

  26. Some lovely pictures from the city!
    Love from Titti

  27. I love too to stroll aimlessly in the city! ^^
And you collected so many pretty photos! :)

  28. So different to see polar bears like that, I like them.

    All the best Jan

  29. That looks such fun, it's depressing here to think that we are have now had the longest day and are heading the other way! Sarah x
