Another birthday

Happy Saturday everyone

This weekend we celebrated another birthday ~ this time it was my dear Daughters special day. I had to take a photo of the pretty bouquet of flowers we bought her.
To celebrate we went out for a family lunch at a Japanese Restaurant, Industry Zen where we had a private table, with delicious food and had a lovely time.

We had this dessert, marshmallow and ice-cream balls and fruit salad which was very yummy. I try not to eat anything with sugar, but it was nice to make an exception for a special occasion.

I am knitting this navy blue jersey with cables and bobbles, for a present for our daughter  - it is taking longer than I thought and have finished the front and back and now working on the sleeves.

Happy to have a long weekend here - Queens birthday is celebrated on Monday here
Hope you are enjoying your weekend
hugs
Carolyn

    Beautiful birthday flowers!
How clever are you being able to knit in cable - it is lovely and I'm sure you will have it finished in no time now that the cold weather is here.
Perfect to sit by the fire knitting!
We're off to France again next week - YEA!

  13. Carolyn, I saw your red rose on my side bar, and had to come right over. Happy Birthday to your dear daughter, and what a fun day you had! The Japanese restaurant sounds delicious. I was just talking to husband this morning about this restaurant we saw in town, and I've never had Japanese food before. The flower pictures are so pretty with a soft setting. And that last picture, oh my. I try to stay away from too much sugar also, it seems it's in so many foods.

    Have a peaceful Sunday, Carolyn.

    love, ~Sheri

  16. Many happy returns to your daughter. The flowers are beautiful and it looks like you had a lovely time at the Japanese restaurant. Clever you to be able to knit cable pattern. The Queen's birthday trooping of the colours in London will be on the 13th June this year. I expect I shall watch the television broadcast. I hope you have a good week Carolyn.

  19. Dearest Carolyn,
Happy to read that you both had such a special time together.
Love your knitting; not easy and needs to be done by really concentrating on it. Never mind if it takes somewhat longer to finish; the end result is what counts.
    Sending you hugs,
    Mariette

  24. CONGRATULATIONS with your dear daughter, it looks wonderful on that restaurent, Carolyn, and the dessert oh looks WONDERFUL, what a special way of serving it, too. I am a big fan of cable knitting, it is so beautiful, but not a knitter, at all. I prefer the needle and fabric in my hands. The sweater will be a most wonderful piece for your daughter. Love your gorgeous flowers, dear friend.
    Hugs, Dorthe

But the day before yesterday my husband and I went for an ice-cream - and it was much toooooo sweet for me, I'm really weaned from sugar... The pullover will become wonderful!
