Dinner by candlelight

I hope your week is going well

I love rainy days and we had one on Saturday.
My husband always cooks dinner on Saturday evening and he was just starting preparing our meal when all of a sudden the power went off.
Lucky it was still twilight outside, we rushed around getting all the candles lit so were could see our way around. Thank goodness for a gas oven and we were still able to sit down and enjoy a wonderful cooked meal.
So the power outage, turned what would have been just another Saturday evening into a romantic and special time, we talked, and was fun watching the firelight twinkling around the room. The power came back on an hour later.

I was excited yesterday, when I went to the mailbox and there was a package waiting for me, so lovely that it wasn't the usual bills.

 Sarah, writes a wonderful blog  Down by the sea    she had a giveaway and I was the lucky winner. Her photos are stunning of Dorset, where she lives and it is always a delight to go and visit her. She has the cutest dog Daisy too - so go over and say hello and see her amazing part of the world

'Peaches for Monsieur Le Cure', was the lovely book she gave me  by the author Joanne Harris .
{who was also the bestselling author of Chocolat}
I am very much looking forward to reading this, the Daily mails comment ~ typically mouthwatering.  Many thanks again, Sarah
Don't you love the red and white VW combi!
Sarah also gave me a copy of Coast magazine which is lovely and I have been enjoying reading it .
The postcard shows all the wonderful old houses of Dorset with thatched roofs and  pretty gardens - reminded me of one Christmas, when I was a little girl and was given a box of chocolates with a charming house like these - remember how beautiful the pictures on the box of chocolates used to be. I wonder why they don't do this now?
Enjoy the rest of the week, dear friends and thanks for visiting.
hugs
Carolyn
