Me in the right corner walking along the Montmartre cobblestones |
When I was in high school, I learned French for the first two years and really enjoyed this class.
With the help of a wonderful teacher, Miss Leeming, {merci}
Tonight my DH and I are going back to night school for some more French lessons, so the next time we travel, will hopefully be able to converse a little better.
Excited to be learning French again, albeit a little nervous, but will be good to challenge myself.
May need a little ... bonne chance!
{Update... Thanks for all your kind comments.
We had a great first lesson, there were 8 of us, wanting to learn and get more fluent with the French language.
Madame Brigitte, who used to live in France, is a great teacher and it felt like we were back at school again. We all had a lot of fun and laughs and I look forward to another lesson next week.
Au revoir}
Keeping all those affected by hurricane Sandy, in my thoughts and prayers.
Stay safe.
I wish you all a wonderful week
Bisous
Carolyn
How wonderful! I took French through high school and college and would love to take a course at this stage. Enjoy it, Carolyn! And thank you for the well wishes with Sandy. It's really bearing down on us now. Luckily I still have power but the light are flickering and the hot water is out. We'll make it through. xoxo
ReplyDeleteHi Dawn,
ReplyDeleteStay safe and hope that you continue to have power and I will be thinking of you.
Hugs
Carolyn
Dearest Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for taking French classes together. That makes any country's visit so much more enjoyable! You would love to read the French Linternaute: http://www.linternaute.com/
That helps quite a lot.
Hugs to you and for us in the southeast, the wind has calmed down. No problems here.
Mariette
Dearest Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteOh, learning second language is fun and also requires motivation and patience, isn't it☆☆☆ I DO admire your efforts, my friend(^_^)v

Sending you lots of love and hugs from Japan to friend in New Zealand, xoxo Miyako*
Good for you Carolyn! I WISH I would have taken French in school (rather than Spanish). My daughter studied French in high school and college and she is able to converse {albeit} slowly. It's a beautiful language and for those of us that enjoy traveling to France.. it's necessary!!

MOTH is the French speaker here Carolyn - yes hard to believe aye! Only because as a 16yo at High School he was mad for his young, gorgeous French teacher. At 64 his French langauge skills are still good, however his Maths & Chemistry skills are abysmal.

Ooh, have fun. I was hopeless at languages at school, but a smattering of French has stayed with me, and far less usefully, Latin! I often wonder if I'd enjoy a French conversation class. Do let us know how you get on won't you :D
ReplyDeleteHello Carolyn;
ReplyDeleteFrench is pretty tough to study, but definitely useful!
I'm sure you'll enjoy to spech French! :D
