My mask and shoes I wore on the night |
I love a Masquerade Ball ~ watching people and what they are wearing and the mystic of their faces hidden behind a mask. With an air of mystery, behind the mask one can hide and there is always a touch of allure. It is one night when you can dress up and feel like Cinderella for the evening.
We attended a glittering Charity Ball at the invitation of the Mayoress last weekend and the theme was 'The Phantom of the Opera.
The Charity was 'Fund for Youth' which raises funds to support initiatives that directly benefit the health, well being, educational opportunities and employment of young people living in Auckland.
We sat at a round table with ten friends and enjoyed a lavish banquet, had a fun night out and listened to some wonderful music.
This was the only photo of me, {sans mask } and my friend Tatiana.
Do you enjoy dressing up for a Masquerade Ball or Fancy dress?
Enjoy your weekend
Hugs
Carolyn

Going to a Ball for a good cause sounds like fun. You and your friend look beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOur daughter loves dancing and often goes to events where she's in 1940s authentic dress. She's organised themed family parties at home, including a Venetian Carnival one, which was very enjoyable.
I have never been to a masquerade ball, so excitng. Your mask and shoes are lovely.

Hi Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteMy, my...what fun! I've never had the pleasure of attending a masquerade ball, but I know for sure I would find it most appealing. I love when I see them in movies, and read about them...especially in historical novels. Hope you enjoy your Sunday.

Dearest Carolyn, OMG - I have so much to catch up today! Sooo sorry that I was not able to comment more frequently! First I would like to congratulate your son Marcel to his 21st Birthday! And I am delighted that you have found a good home for your mother! Yes, it hurts when loved ones become more and more in need of help ... and it makes us happy to know that they are in good hands - I know so well from my own experience with my mother!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully that picture of you and your friend in the "Phantom of the Opera"-Charity Ball!
Oh, dear Yvonne from the blog Happy Sonne / Happy Sun won your lovely give-away? I will congratulate her then immediately!

I wish you an enjoyable new week!
