New Zealand Herald.
We are really proud of our son Marcel
(he is on the left)
http://nzh.tw/10832033
Marcel is in his last year at University
studying Spatial Design.
He has been working alongside an Interior
Designer, Sonya Cotter Design to get the
hours needed for work experience for his
degree.
He had to design an Installation for the
Home Show which is on this week.
The Space module is a collaboration between
award winning companies, Smeg, Laminex,
Samsung, Natural Tree products, and
Trends that pushes the frontier of design
and home technology.
We went along on Friday to take a look and
there was so much inspiration for building
a new home or renovating an old home.
Here are a few photos
Smeg introduces it's latest fridge ~
The Smeg Denim Refrigerator, one of only 600
produced globally and was flown in from Italy.
I love the colours and design of the retro looking fridge and can remember back when I was a little girl, we had a big old fridge that looked a lot like this in white. If you had the choice, what colour would fit in with your kitchen?
They even had a half size one in pink!
Loved this little old Fiat 500 {Bambina} and would be such fun driving around in this.
Do hope that you are enjoying the weekend and having some fun.Hugs
Carolyn

Carolyn dear, you must be so proud of Marcel! I am so glad you got to go and enjoy and see the new products for making life better. I really loved the refrigerators. We too had a big white one much like those when I was little. I think I would have to choose a white one for my kitchen but would LOVE a little pink one for my little cabin. So cute!

It must have been a proud moment looking I looked at the NZ Herald article, so of the features in the show must look quite futurisitc! Amazing having a denim fridge!

You must be so proud of your son dear Carolyn.
ReplyDeleteI love the white fridge.
Have a wonderful week.
Warm wishes, Mea
Precious Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteSeeing comments from each of you wonderful people is so soothing to my confused mind. Sales have slowed down and I guess I am just learning first hand what it is like to be AN ARTIST. Your heart aches to create, but no one wants it. What is one to do? Oh I am so confused.
But friends are wonderful and I thank you for your lovely friendship. Anita
What fabulous news, it obviously runs in the family.
ReplyDeleteAmicalement from a still hot SW France, Leeann x

ReplyDeleteyou really can be so proud of your son! This is so great! And I love those refrigerators and the ideas behind as well! The small pink one is so cut :O)

You must be so proud of your son for doing a good job! Congratulations!!
ReplyDeleteThe fridge are a delight to see. I didn't realize that pastels and stripes could be a better look than the usual whites and greys there are in the market! :)
Muy buenas imagenes. Un beso desde Murcia.

Hi Carolyn, Have to admit that we STILL have a white refrigerator like that at our cottage! I love the new ones and the mini one is just darling. You must be such a proud mom. Very cool that your son is studying at Spatial Design. It's so nice that you got to see his work at the home show. What fun!!!

.....Love those old Fiats also!
Hi Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your son and how well he is doing in his field of design. I can imagine what a joy it was to see him at the show and his work. I know you are proud and rightly so. Thank you for sharing the pics and I love the colorful fridges. I think I could use black or white. Gotta love the mini pink one though!! The little car would be so much fun to travel around town in, but not enough room for a big shopping trip with the girls!!! LOL
So enjoyed my visit here tonight and thank you for stopping by with your sweet comment. I am getting really busy now and the holiday creating is in full swing. But I love it and very thankful.
Have a wonderful week dear friend and blessings always,
XO Celestina Marie
That's great news about your son, Carolyn. Jess studied Interior Design and has her degree in it. They would have much to talk about. The fridges look similar to the ones in the 50's, and I think a red one would be unique. The Fiat is such a cute car too, and guess what? I first learned to drive in a FIAT! It looked a bit different than this, but still the same car. Have a lovely week.

ReplyDeletevery cool Carolyn - no wonder you're so proud!
ReplyDeleteI love those fridges too and think they're so much better than when people try to disguise them with cupboard panel doors - ick.
I think I like the little pink one best...
Hello Carolyn,
