One evening we dined out at the magnificent Chateau Pomy and had the most delightful meal and evening. We were the only diners so it was all very nice and the Maitre' d was very charming.
The chateau is surrounded by vineyards as far as the eye could see and the perfect terroir, for the grapes needed for the rich dark Bordeaux wine.
The French really do cheese so very well and my DH choose the cheese board ~ the perfect cheese plate encapsulates as many sensations as possible, fragrant, smelly, strong, fresh and hard. Always eat the milder, fresher cheese and then build up to the climax of the strong blue and gorgonzolas. My husband was very happy to finish off his meal with the yummy selection of cheeses.
The grand finale for me was the chocolate fondant with the gooey centre and a raspberry coulis and mandarine segments. A truly memorable dessert for me.
July seemed to have flashed by so quickly... Welcome to August and hope that you have a happy month
Hugs
Carolyn

GOOD MORNING DEAREST!
ReplyDeleteWEll, you have a STORE of wonderful moments in France that are so special. I do think that EVERY PERSON's own view of a FAMOUS place gives us more perspective than we could ever IMAGINE in ourselves. That is one thing I am learning in my readings about writing poetry. DO NOT BE ORDINARY. Describe from our OWN personal observations things that no one expects.....and in your posts, you give us YOUR OWN view of your visits....I SO LOVE THAT!
THANK YOU FOR VISITING ME DEAREST....have a lovely day!!! Anita
Perfect ending to a fabulous evening! How wonderful to have such a treat.
