Pick the day. Enjoy it~ to the hilt.
The day as it comes. People as they come ...
The past, I think has helped me appreciate the present~ and I don't want to spoil any of it by fretting about the future. ~ Audrey Hepburn
These little snowdrops graced my garden, so nice to see on a winters day.
I made this pie on Sunday evening for dessert and this was the left over piece that was in the fridge the next day. It is a great pie and I have shared the recipe with you, if you are interested in making one.
Wishing you a great week dear friends
Hugs
Carolyn

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE lemon meringue pie. My mom made the best when we were growing up. I have never attempted meringue. I don't even have an electric mixer as I just do everything by hand. Sure wish I had that last piece here -- I could have it for breakfast. :) Have a beautiful day. Tammy

Chanel #5 is still my signature perfume - I use others but this is my long time fave.
Love the look of your Lemon Meringue Pie - a great winter dessert for these cold wintry nights - yummy!!

Dearest Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteWhat a surprise to see your snowdrops blooming NOW. Feels odd with the heat here but that's the latitude difference. What a BEAUTIFUL HANDWRITING you have! You score very high on that one; no surprise to me however. Handwriting reveals SO much about a person...
Lots of love and enjoy your pie!

Hello Carolyn!
ReplyDeleteJust popped over from Mariette's. What a lovely blog you have - I'll have to come back and catch up on some of your older posts. I can't wait to try your lemon meringue pie - I live in Greece where we got loads of lemons on our lemon tree and I've been longing to find a good recipe. (tried one before that did NOT work!)
Oh and aren't Chanel bottles just so pretty and decorative - I've kept mine for the last 25 years! :-)
xo Joan
Carolyn-I was so glad to hear from you! I have been away from blogging with all the wedding and baby excitement!! There is something so special about handwritten recipes--they are always the best and this pie looks like no exception. Now I am craving lemon meringue. Love the quote. Hope you enjoy this day and all it has to offer :)
ReplyDeleteI love Chanel.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a teenager I had a big poster in my room with Marilyn Monroe on which it advertises for Chanel No.5.
I am annoyed that I no longer have!
Big Hugs,
Yvonne

Hi Carolyn! Thanks for stopping by my blog! :) It's always nice to "see" an old bloggy friend. By old I mean... one I am already well acquainted with ...I am not referencing age since I don't know anyone's age here in bloggerland! LOL! Anyway...what a lovely post! It seemed to strike a cord with me since #1 I LOVE CHANEL!!! I think my favorite Chanel perfumes are Mademoiselle and Chance and #2 my mother had snowdrops growing in her garden every spring as a way of seemingly "forcing" winter away! LOL! and then #3 Lemon Meringue pie was my father's favorite and my mother would make it for him every year on his birthday! He NEVER wanted cake...just lemon meringue pie...and just the way SHE made it! LOL!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post Carolyn, thank you for sharing, and enjoy your every single day ♥
