As Rosemary is to the spirit, so lavender is to the soul ~ Anonymous
I loved picking a little bunch of lavender for the house.
I planted some of these the other day, so I hope that mine will look as pretty as on the packet.
I also pruned the roses, one of those jobs that it is always great when you finish, with all the thorns.
Also have these magazines to sit down and enjoy.
One of the most tragic things I know about human nature, is that all of us tend to put off living.
We are dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon instead of enjoying the roses blooming outside our windows today.
~ Dale Carnegie.
I hope that you are having a wonderful weekend and enjoying every moment.
Thank you for visiting my blog and the kind notes you have left and I look forward to coming over to visit you all.
Hugs
Carolyn
Sounds like a busy weekend Carolyn, the pile of magazines is very tempting. I also love magazines (in any language) and have "beaucoup" all around the house.
ReplyDeleteA tres bientot,
Leeann x
Totally agree - we should enjoy what we have NOW and sniff the roses in our gardens (or rather bouganvillea here in Andalucia - roses would tend to shrivel up in the 30C+ heat!)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, my dear Carolyn,
XXXXLOLA:)
I hope soon we are going to watch your flowers.

Hi Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you will be enjoying the blooms soon. I love those quotes so much. How true about so many people...not enjoying the beauty of everyday.
I loved the previous post. WOW! My castle doesn't look like that when we have a party. I am going to have to have a word with my groundskeeper, hehe!
hugs to you from here
I so love the lavender. Ours actually grew this year. I was afraid it wouldn't due to the deer loving it so much to munch on.
ReplyDeletethanks for the note, too.
Adore Dale Carnegie's quote and what you are choosing to do with your weekend. Hope your lavender plants will flourish in abundance and bring much joy, Carolyn!

Hello Carolyn, I'm sure your garden is beautiful. I imagine it is always full of colour and perfume and lots to look at, as your garden was in Christian Street. I have inherited 3 of my Aunt's orchids. I do hope they survive the cold down here.
ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn
ReplyDeleteYes, I know what you mean and it seems there just isn't enough time in the day... this summer has flown by and I think "the lazy days of summer" just doesn't exist anymore.
Blessings to you this week
Rebecca

ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun and productive weekend you had spent doing something you love.
I love those words from Dale Carnegie. He really was an amazing man.
I love lavender in the house too and walking into a room with the fresh and relaxing scent filling the air.
Love my magazines too and always look forward to relaxing with my favorites.
I got an email from the Fashion TV designers this morning saying they were going to annouce the winners. I wish Victoria all the best. She is so talented! I want her to win!!
Have a great week and blessing always.
Hugs, Celestina Marie
What a beautiful post...with some of my favorite things! Hope you're having a wonderful Monday! ♥
ReplyDeleteWow....can't get that quote about putting off living out of my head. So true, and it really resonates with me right now.
ReplyDeleteLovely lavender, and a lovely post, dear friend!
Hugs,
Anne
I'm with dear ol' Dale. Too busy living to be blogging much right now...
ReplyDeleteI'm out there learning to golf... although the past several days have not been conducive to much outside. Today... raining again... arrgghh... so..I'm baking cuz I love the smell of chocolate and ginger and fresh breads and .. well,... just about any aroma from the oven really.... and it helps to warm up the house when the temps plummet ... Even our summer isn't co-operating on the warm front this year....sigh....
Thank you for your visit, Carolyn. Thinking of you.
