Burberry
Vogue 1939
We have really started to feel the cooler season creeping up on us and the thought of the shortest day the 21 st, will soon be here. Now we do not have the extreme cold conditions as so many other places have, as it does not even snow here on the Island.
I do love this time of the year though when you go outside, and get all dressed up in a warm coat, boots, scarves and gloves.
Another favourite winter indulgence is to snuggle up with a good book or watch a lovely movie.
It is one of those weekends here, where it is wet and cold so that is what we have been doing.
Whatever your weather is, if you have summer days or winter.... I hope that you are having a wonderful weekend.
Hugs
Carolyn
So weird . . . it's in the 90s here, summer is around the corner and the AC is going and you are wearing warm coats and boots . . . .

Happy Winter. I may come and visit. I likethe sun shinning but the humidity here is not for me. I would have thought after 40+ years I would be used to it. I too like the change of the seasons so you can wear different clothes!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Lisa
Hi Carolyn, Have a wonderful time snuggled up in a quilt and reading a great book!
ReplyDeleteI wish you a lovely week!
Hugs to you,
Julia
Summer´s just starting here though it´s a bt cool and rainy today! :(
ReplyDeleteHave a great week ahead!
XOXO LOLA:)
Hi Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteCooler days are hard to remember now that our temps are balancing on 100 degrees! LOL!!
But I love too the cozy cold days cuddling up with a good book or watching a movie.
We will crank up the AC to do that now.
Love the pics of the wonderful libraries around the world. I love books and these would be amazing places to visit. Thank you for sharing them.
Hope all your loved ones and friends had great birthdays.
Thank you for stopping by. I always love your visits.
Enjoy the winter and sending big warm hugs.
Blessings, Celestina Marie
So hard to imagine as Edward and I hide inside from the heat and humidity here!
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday to you!
Oh I love winter!
ReplyDeleteToo bad it's 6 months away...
Happy Sunday, darling!
xoxox,
CC
OMG, how time flies very fast. Before you even realize it, summer's ending. I do hope we have winter here in Indonesia :p It would be fantastic to have snowfalls in my yard. Wishful thinking...
ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteIt sounds so cozy there watching your movie and bundling up! Love the beret in your photo, so chic!
xo~Tracie
Well Carolyn I almost feel that it is still Winter in my part of the US as well. I'm still waitin' for the warm temps that we usually have in June. What a crazy mixed up Spring we have had.
ReplyDeleteI will think of you all snug in your house with a toasty fire going and you all wrapped in an afghan watching your favorite movie.
I have missed some awesome posts here while away and loved the picture of you and sweet daughter in Sydney. The library post was amazing, so many wonderful libraries out in the world with such amazing architecture.
hugs
that hat is so pretty!
ReplyDeletethat hat is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteYour winter day sounds lovely and that is so nice for you but I have to say I am glad we are going into summer here. We had way to much snow this year and I am not quite ready to go back there yet.
ReplyDeleteSending warm hugs.
Jenn
It's summer here, but it's been rainy & not too hot yet lol. Hope you had an amazing weekend & lovely week ahead :)
ReplyDeleteOh I agree...I adore the cozy winter and love warm sweaters and coats. But I am waiting for our Summer to come...has been such a wet Spring. Hugs to you on this Monday morning. oxox
ReplyDeletewow...coats, is as if we are two different planet...lol..it was hot here yesterday, in the high 90's, so enjoy!!!
ReplyDeleteDon't scare me like that! ha!
ReplyDeleteSummer just started for us. Burberry does make one think of cooler weather. love the hat.

ReplyDeleteWishing you a beautiful summer full of sunshine:)

It's so odd to think of it as being Winter anywhere....100 degree temps here. Just proves what a BIG world we have!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Anne
Carolyn thank you so much for leaving such a sweet comment on my site.
ReplyDeleteWhen I visited yours I had to do a double take or triple on the date of your post because of your writing about being cold. lol
In Texas it is 100 degrees right now and we are burning up and its only June. Long hot summer ahead for us.
I loved visiting your site so much I had to join you.
Take care
Maggie
Summer has just begun here Carolyn! I love summer for the beauty of flowers and warm sunshine but I love winter for the lovely clothing. I much prefer winter clothing to summer clothing. The images you chose are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week :-)
So surreal thinking of you just starting cold weather as we are leaving it behind. Ninety degrees out here in Northern California this past weekend!! Love the beret! XO Trish
ReplyDeleteHello dear Carolyn! Lovely vintage fashion images!! They were always so stylish back then :) It doesn't feel much like Summer here the last few days as it has rained constantly and every day is so gloomy :( Hopefully the sun will come out again soon and dry things up so I can get back in my garden!
ReplyDeleteHugs to you ~
:) T
Oh I love the vintage Vogue ad! I can't say I miss winter at all, but that's probably because we had way too much of that last season. It never seemed to end! I hope you're enjoying your mild winter days!
ReplyDeleteAdore hearing about your winter!
ReplyDeleteMakes me happy~
Hugs from the land of Heat!!!!
Constance
wow, winter sounds very exciting. I'm loving all the layering. unfrtunately, layering does not work in Bangkok it's just too hot here. :)
ReplyDeletewish you a lovely week.
I love those kind of days too! However, I am NOT complaining about the weather here, with Summer just beginning the sunshine is sorely needed after 8 months of Pacific Northwest rain! Hope you're having a wonderful week, no matter what the weather!
ReplyDeleteI love those kinds of days too, Carolyn. A good book, a comfy chair and a cup of tea.
ReplyDeleteWe don't get too many of those in Florida anyway, but June through September, we get nothing but heat and humidity...and it started early this year.
Enjoy the cool weather!
OMG Carolyn... I always have to remember it's winter over there down under!
ReplyDeleteLovely hat with pin.
Enjoy your lazy days!
Monicax.
Me again!
ReplyDeleteHad to laugh at the Afrikaan thing! So far I think it's just you. Funny! :-)
We are just starting to feel warm here in California! ...But that Burberry ad makes me long for winter coats.
ReplyDeletesorry.... can't feel sorry for ya..... it is rainy, cold and blustery here too.... only +8C today and it is middle of June...supposed to be summery! acckkkk! I want my golf lessons and I want them NOW! They've been cancelled two weeks running...one on account of snow if you please!
ReplyDeleteThe weekend was warm... sunny and dry and we almost killed ourselves off trying to do all the yard work in those two days... and now... so cold my basil has perished. I think it died from exposure and frost bite.... poor little guy....
Dearest Carolyn, This is a nice post and I can see where bundling up with a scarf and hat are hot cocoa weather!
ReplyDeleteThere will be some hot summer days here that I am sure that I wished we were in your neighborhood.
God bless you, Carolyn and I so enjoy our blogging friendship.
Thank you for the prayers,
d
It seems so odd that you now have winter and we're having summer. Our world is so big and yet so small.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you dropped in to visit my home and creative space on my blog. And thank you for your lovely comment about my bears; you are too kind. :-)
I hope you're doing well! When's your next visit to Colorado? ;-)
Love and hugs,
Debora, New Avenue Crew
Thank you to all, for the wonderful visits.
ReplyDeleteDebora, would be lovely to come and visit you one day.
