As a librarian, I thank you. These are simply beautiful. My very first job was in the old Toronto Reference Library. They built a new one that's nowhere near as nice as the old one which is now sectioned off and part of the University of Toronto. Sad really.
ReplyDeleteIf I went to one of these libraries, I'm afraid I'd spend more time on my back admiring the ceilings than reading the books. My GOSH, these buildings are gorgeous. It's sad they don't make them they way they used to.
ReplyDeleteoh wow... wish we had a library like that! I would spend days there... reading is my passion.
ReplyDeletehave a lovely weekend, dearest Carolyn.

I'd love to visit libraries like this. How beautiful these libraries are. I work in a little library in my hometown, which is housed in the Casino Threater Building. http://www.casinotheater.org/
ReplyDeleteThe Casino Theatre was built in 1900 in the Greek Revival Style and hosted live entertainment and was a popular stop along the "Vaudeville Circuit". Among its historic visitors during the past century are President William H. Taft, world boxing champion Bob Fitsimmons, composer Hoagy Carmichael, the Lone Ranger, Tex Ritter and the Three Stooges.
Many wonderful productions are still shown in this historic place. The library is on the left side of the building and we are going through many renovations to update our facilities. I love working in the library, even if it isn't as fancy as some libraries. Thanks for your post, I enjoyed it.
I'm crazy about libraries!!!! And bookstores ;)
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for your concern and sweet note about my hands. I'm sure I will continue to be inspired, even if I have to give up many things...
I'm grateful for your friendship.
Hugs,
Monicax.
