Sending good wishes, for a friend.
Life can be so uncertain....
On Friday a friend, Lisa had complained of a headache and then later in the afternoon she collapsed at her desk, at work.
She was rushed up to the hospital where she had a CT scan which confirmed a subrarachroid haemorrhage ( bleeding between the two layers of the membranes around the brain.
She will have a procedure today to seal off the bleeding vessel.
The scary part is Lisa is only 37 years old, hard when friends are so young and struck down with something like this.
I hope all goes well for Lisa and hoping that she will soon be out of hospital and making a good recovery.
These are the wonderful tomatoes, off Lisa's vines that her boyfriend brought around for us.
So much nicer than the ones bought in the store, tasted better and they did not have that pesky little label that they seem to need to put on all the fruit and vegetables.
They are delicious and this was my lunch, a tomato sandwich and a cup of tea.
We had a great day out at the Devonport Craft Market, but really I would not be wanting to pay the mortgage with what we made.
It was great to meet talented and lovely people and to see what wonderful craft work they were offering.
Inside the hall, without any air conditioning or fans it was very warm and at one stage with the background music of the dulcet tunes of Norah Jones, I could have easily have dozed off.
I want to wish you all a wonderful week and look forward to visiting you soon.
Hugs
Carolyn

Richard always plants tomatoes and I agree they taste so much better than store bought!!!
Thank you for stopping by today! I really look forward to your visits.
((Hugs))

Dear Carolyn, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. Hopefully the surgery has worked out fine and she will fully recover soon! It's always shocking when someone is so young.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had some fun at the show even when the sales could have been better!
The tomatoes look very good! I'm always happy too, when a friend of mine who has a garden, brings me some fresh fruits or veggies. They taste so much better than the ones you buy in the store.
Have a wonderful week!
Hugs,
Julia
O Carolyn, I am so sorry to hear about your friend.
ReplyDeleteThat must be so scary for her and her loved ones.
I wish for a speedy recovery for her.
how wonderful to have that time at the markets, it really is a buzz being around all that creativity.
xx
Dear Carolyn, so sorry to hear about your young friend. It is so unimaginable when something like this happens to someone who is seemingly fine otherwise and at such a young age. It just proves that none of us ever really knows what any moment holds for us. Those tomatoes look fabulous -- tomato sandwiches are one of my favorites. We just ate up the tomatoes I picked from the plants our balcony -- I need to check them again as there were 10 the other day that were working on ripening. Glad to hear you had a good time at the show; although it does look mighty hot in there. Your dough creations and bears are gorgeous! Wishing you a wonderful day and sending prayers and good wishes to Lisa. Blessings, Tammy
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about Lisa, hope that she gets better soon. It gives us all a dose of reality and makes you realise just how precious life is.

What a dreadful thing to happen to your friend Lisa. Thank goodness that something is able to be done to help her, and I am sending her all my good thoughts for a safe recovery. Life is just so scary sometimes. I hope you had a fun day at the craft fair, even though it sounds like it was a little quiet.
ReplyDeleteDear Julia,
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for your visit and kind words you left.
It is great to have so many wonderful friends.
Thanks Suzi, always neat to have you come and visit.
Yes, it must have been such a scary thing for Lisa, and something you would not expect.
Many thanks Tammy for your kind wishes for Lisa, I really appreciate the beautiful people I have met here with my blog.
How neat that you have tomatoes growing on your balcony ~ it must be a treat to go and pick them.
Hi Leeann,
Yes, life is so precious and we really do not know what is around the next corner.
Thanks for your visit and always lovely to hear from you.
Thanks so much Christine, I appreciate your kindness.
It is always great to see all the talent from everybody at the craft markets.

Carolyn
Dear Carolyn, I'm sorry to read about your friend and will pray for everything to go well during surgery and for a quick recovery.
ReplyDeleteYou must be in summer months, those tomatoes look yummy!! I'm wishing for summer today as we are to get more snow, maybe 6 more inches added onto the 30" of last week. But the good news is we are still enjoying all the tomatoes we canned and made into sauce.
Your bears are so darling! Is that you by the bear in the Red coat?
Have a wonderful week!!
We all add our prayers in for Lisa... I wish her a speedy recovery!
ReplyDeleteI hope this finds your friend doing better ~ I will certainly keep her in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteOh I can't wait until I'm back in my garden ~ currenly it's under a few inches of snow! Your lunch looks delicious.
Jo
So sorry to hear about your friend, Carolyn. Please keep us posted!
ReplyDeleteI love craft shows. There were so many when I lived in Michigan. And so few in Florida. Is it because we are a transient society down here? Or because everyone would rather be outside doing things?
A tomato sandwich with the home grown variety would really hit the spot today!
Hope you had a lovely Valentine's
Day!
Oh how terrible and so scary for your friend! Sending prayers her way...
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more about homegrown tomatoes!! There is just no comparison...I miss summer!
The Craft Market looks wonderful!
Hugs ~

Hello, Carolyn! Oh my, I hope Lisa is well on her way to recovery. So very young indeed.
ReplyDeleteTo market, to market! How I wish I lived near you. Your bears and dough decorations are primo. Though I must say, it does look like it was quite warm in there. I'm glad you had a good time.
Hope you had a wonderful Valentine's. xoxoxo!
Dear Carol,
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that you still have your tomatoes, made into sauce to tide you over the winter.
My what a lot of snow you are having ~ stay warm.
Yes, that is me sitting behind the bear dressed in the red coat and V hiding her face.
thank you so much Heather
Thanks Jo, for your visit.
Isn't it funny when you can't wait until a change of season, so you can get back in your garden.
Many thanks Barbara, so kind of you to visit and I will put an update of Lisa ~ she had the operation yesterday and seems to have come through well, so that is great.
There seem to be a lot of craft markets in Auckland, maybe too many and people get tired of going to them?.. don't know.
I hope your Valentines day was wonderful.
Many thanks Tracey, appreciate your kind thoughts for Lisa.
All homegrown food is just so much nicer, especially without all the horrible sprays, so many growers use.
