Where do you put the groceries and golf clubs?

This is not a toy, nor a concept car.
This Volkswagen is a newly developed single seat car, in a highly aerodynamic tear shape road proven real car.
It is ready to be launched for sale in Shanghai, in 2010 for $600US.

Interested? ....wait until you learn that it will cruise at 100-120km/hour with an unbelievable 0.99 litre/100km or 258 miles/gallon.

Impressed? The most economical car in the world will be on sale next year..

What do you think?

I hope that you are having a great week.

Hugs
Carolyn

  2. Hi Life is good,

Sounds a lot like over here, where they were trying to dictate that everyone had to use the new green eco lightbulbs and had to have a certain shower in the bathroom.
Hence that Political Party did not get back in.

  3. Yeah, they're trying to push those lightbulbs here too. I have some but I don't like them.

I'll pass on the car, thank you very much, talk about a death trap!!!

    Hugs,
    Marsha

  4. Being the lead foot Speed Queen that I am, I hate this! However, I've let the tiny bit of eco-consciousness in my brain come into play, as I'm about to say goodbye to my beautiful gas-guzzling 4WD & welcome something a little more 'sensible'. Oh & I detest those awful light bulbs that we are now forced to use. MOTH & I are struggling to see clearly under their murky yellow flicker, so we think we'll sue our wonderful Govt. for the loss of our vision & the zillion more wrinkles that have appeared as we try to focus on a page of print!

  5. Hi Marsha,

My Parents have the light bulbs and they are so dim, you can not tell if you have a blue sock or grey sock.
Especially when you are trying to do needlework at night, they are no good.

No I would not like the little car and it would be fine if everyone was driving them but I would rather have more steel around me.

  6. Hi Millie,

I was thinking of you when I saw this little car, and you were in the market for a new one, teehee!
No I enjoy driving our Landrover for the Island and my husbands Mercedes in the City.
This would be too scary, alongside a big truck.
We are not forced to use the lightbulbs yet, as the Govt. was voted out that was trying to make them compulsory. They are so dim and yes there will be people having trouble with their eyesight.

  8. I think I have too much stuff and my hubby is too TALL to fit! lol I guess it would be good for getting about in the city!

  9. Hi Diane,

Yes, it would be great for getting around the City and for a single person.

  12. Hi Carolyn~

I'm on my fourth VW which I LOVE!!! That car is tiny, yes, although for city life I would have to think about it. In the suburbs...NO WAY! Which is where I live...winters and the ice. No thank you. I am loving how that "LITTLE KAR" is bringing up such a political debate here today! Very Fun!

  13. Hi Carolyn...What an interesting little car...not sure I would enjoy it though..not enough room!

I was back tracking a little on your posts...lovely post with you and your daughter...sounds like you had a most wonderful evening.

    Have a wonderful week!

  14. Hi Miss Kris,

How lovely to hear from you and I have been thinking of you.
Good that it has sparked a little bit of a debate!
    Hope all is well.

    Hi Nancy,

Lovely of you to come and visit.
Yes, not enough room for me either, I would probably feel a little claustrophobic under that glass.
My daughter and I did have a lovely evening out, thank you for your kind words.

  15. I think its lovely. Sure, if you have you'd need a bigger car...I think it would be a great commuter car. Instead of taking your gas-guzzler to work and whatnot.
And its being unveiled in a country where far fewer can afford cars, so this is a great product for that purpose as well.

  16. Hhmmmm...I think that this is for people who don't have 1.a significant other, 2. a dog, 3. a child, 4. a pet fish, 5. a parent, 6. friends, and 7. yeah, golf clubs.

Aside from those cons, it's great! Don't you think? :D

  17. Hi Indie Tea,

Yes, the price is great and a good commuter car.
    Thanks very much for visiting.

    Hi Charity,

I thought it was fun and if everybody had them would be ideal.
My only concern is driving near big trucks would be rather scary, wouldn't it.
It looks real futuristic and I think that is why I liked it.

  20. I do like the 258/gallon bit. Forget where do you put the golfclubs-where do you put the skis or surfboard? LOL!

I use those very dim lightbulbs out on the patio/porchlight. I had some in my living room, but it was so dark that I couldn't stand it any longer.

  21. I like it, but can it pull a trailer? Cause I would have to have one for all my stuff!!!! The idea is great, so is the price, but what about safety?
    Cheers,

  22. Oh mercy, mercy, mercy!!!!
I'm sure that there are others that wouldn't mind this vehicle, but I don't believe I could get out of it once in it. That would create a world of hurt...hahaha.

Carolyn, my word verification that I have to type is goodie!

    Oh goodie goodie...
May you have a sweet day,

  23. Wow! I love it! I want it! It would be perfect for zipping around Santa Barbara, as I can get anywhere without having to travel the Freeway. Have always wanted a Vespa, but a scooter has its drawbacks. This looks like the perfect solution! I am sure when I share this with my girls they are going to want one too, as it also looks well suited for Paris and NYC...and it is just so cute! Of course, I would like to keep my "other car" too.

  24. Hi Carolyn,
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and for the sweet comment.
Marydon has been a tremendous help and so far I’m enjoying blogging very much. Still have a lot to learn though. That car is cute but wouldn't be very practical for most of us.

  27. I think its kind of cute.Funny looking ,but cute too. Those would be great for a city. But I would not dare put it on a hwy.An 18 wheeler would not see it for sure.LOL...XXOO Marie Antionette

  28. Dear Ni,

I thought it was so crazy and funny so just had to share.
thanks so much for visiting, my friend.

    Hi TattingChic,

I think if you just needed to go to work and if you did not have luggage you would be right.
    Economical little car though.

    Hi Margaret,

Yes, the safety would be an issue with me too, but if everyone had one that would be great.

    Hi Deanna,

Isn't if funny how the word verification can sometimes suit the post, I have noticed that too.
Yes, getting out with a skirt, you would need to do it, ladylike!

    Hi J,

You would have a little more protection than a Vespa and yes zipping around a City, like Paris would be ideal.
I do love the way they park right on the footpaths and where ever they wish to stop.
Yes, to keep your other car would be a good thing.

    Hi Gail,

You will love blogging as it is so much fun. Thanks for following and I will do the same.
Enjoy your new pastime. Be warned though it can take up a lot of your time.

    Hi Susan,

Many thanks for visiting and it is an interesting little car.

    Hi Bella,

A car for one person and yes, it is so cheap. The whole family could have one each!

  30. Hi Carolyn,
Thank you for sharing this little car by VW, which I've never seen before. I have some friends who have been getting little ones, have ridden in and like them.

Unlike some people that have left comments today, I think it is a good and responsible thing to do, for our country, for our children, for our planet, for so many reasons. We are used to taking so much, here in the US.

Well, don't think my comment is going to be that popular, but it is how I feel in my heart.

  31. Hi Constance,

Thank you for visiting and yes, I think we all need to do our part with trying to save our planet and doing our little bit.
By even walking more instead of going out in the car.
    Thanks for your comments.

  32. Hi Carolyn,
Having a Suburban for about 10yrs or as my friend calls it the Urban Assault Vehicle it would be hard to size down but it sure would like to save money on gas. For driving back and forth to work it would be great!
    Happy Birthday to your son!!!
