Curl up with a magazine or good book.
I love Victoria Magazine, I think it is one of my favourite magazines, ( as I have probaly said before here.) Here are two pretty pictures to share with you.
It is a wet weekend so a good day to do indoor jobs.
I am helping DD (darling daughter) clean out her wardrobe, which is a mamoth task!
It is one of those hard jobs, for me as I am a bit of a hoarder.
She though is a little more ruthless and we started making a pile of keepers, a huge bag of clothes for the Red Cross and then one that she will take to the Recycle Boutique and recoup a little amount of money for herself.
Dad is putting up shelving for her books. The things we do to keep our kids happy!
I have been lucky the last couple of days and have got three awards.
Thank you Ces, for the Bella Sinclair Award ~ Art Inspiration, Friendship, Sisterhood, Sharing and Caring. This means a lot to me.
Next, was the Premios Dardo Award from Charity ~ many thanks for this.
And the last award was from Marsha, for the Honest Scrap Award.
As I just listed 10 things about myself in an earlier post, will not do this again.
Also most of my friends seem to already have these awards, but if you would like them,
feel free to pop them on your blog.
Thanks so much.
I really appreciate all these lovely awards.
Time to wish you a great weekend
Hugs
Carolyn
Hi there dear Carolyn! I LOVE Victoria magazine, too! I used to buy it all the time (back when I used to think I had money for magazines, LOL!)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on all your awards. We must've been creating our blog posts at the exact same time because I just published a post that has an award on it for you, too! LOL!
Sometimes these chores just need to be done Carolyn, but once finished you can move on to much more exciting things! Congrats. on all your wonderful Awards - I can't imagine a lovelier person to receive them!
ReplyDeleteMillie ^_^
Lovely photos!! You wouldn't know it, as I do have a lot of STUFF, but I'm pretty good at getting rid of things. If I haven't used it, worn it in a year it goes in the garage sale pile!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the awards!!
Hugs :) Marsha
Hi TattingChic,
ReplyDeleteSo many Awards flying about out there!
Hard to keep up with them all.
Thank you for thinking of me, will come on over and visit your blog.
thank you Millie.
I am thinking of you and your lovely weekend away. I hope that Moth is doing well with the sanding. That is the worst job. Just think though how wonderful it will be when it is all finished.
Thank you so much Marsha, for thinking of me and giving me an Award.
Your words of wisdom are good.
Victoria is going to help me do a Gok on my clothes. We need it from time to time.

ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn. Sorry I haven't left a message for awhile but life is so busy at the moment. Just wanted to pop in and say I do read your blog as often as I can and I love your gorgeous photos. I am so grateful too for the wonderful friends I've met and have reaquainted with through my blog. Especially you, dear friend. Take care and I will be back soon.
ReplyDeleteLuv Karen
Sounds like a wonderful way to spend a rainy day. (I get way more cleaning and organizing done a rainy day anyway) I guess because I know I'm stuck inside. Congrats on the awards!!

Hello Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteOh, I just love Victoria magazine also. I used to subscribe back many years ago and was so sad when they stopped publishing. So happy they started again. Isn't wonderful to curl up with a copy and savor each photo and article?
Have a wonderful weekend,
Sharon
Hi Karen,
ReplyDeleteThinking of you and I hope that the move to Wellington will go smoothly for you. Good luck with the new job.
Life will be really exciting with the change. Neat to hear from you as I know how busy you must be.
thanks for visiting Teresa.
Rainy days are a good way of getting all the inside jobs done.
Hi Ni,
It is an American magazine and always has beautiful things to look at and read.
You have some wonderful Italian magazines over there too.
Thanks for visiting Kim. To sit and read a good book or magazine on a rainy day is a real treat, and with a cup of tea, I agree.
Hi Sharon,
Lovely to hear from you, thank you.

I love your blog and am happy that you've received these awards. I would still love to have a post about style and clothing! Hope your daughter will pass on some ideas. I need some help....soon!
ReplyDeleteHi Diane,
ReplyDeletethanks so much for your kind words.
Always lovely to visit your blog too.
I will definately get Victoria to help me with a post, that will be a good idea. She is working flat out with getting her garments made for her collection. Some of the students are even staying the night at Uni. V did one night but came home so tired and probably never again.

Congrats on the awards, you deserve them all.

Okay Carolyn, I HATED to do it, but I've tagged you to play a little game! IF you want. Visit my post today for the details.
ReplyDeleteHey, you live on a island??? :) From the name of it, it sounds like something remote but sweet...like Christmas island with all those millions of crabs running around... :))
ReplyDeleteI have a secret to tell you...
...I don't take awards unless they are really given to me,like my name is specifically mentioned, because it just doesn't feel special if not... :)
Hi Sares,
ReplyDeleteJust off to bed now as I am really tired but will look at your blog tomorrow. Thanks for thinking of me and I would like to play your tag/game in the morning.
Hi Charity,
Yes, I do live on an Island - it is 35 minutes out on ferry, from a large city, Auckland.
I feel all my blog friends deserve an award though, every blog has something interesting and special, to tell and show.
Off to bed now, I am tired.
Nighty night!
Carolyn
Oh I just love that first photo - gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHope you had fun with your daughter cleaning out the wardrobe - I actually love that kind of thing! I always feel so organised and free afterwards.
Hi Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteOn rainy days I like to sit and tat the day away. On sunny days, I like to sit and tat the day away too, but that doesn't happen too often. LOL!! Too much to do outside. We plant a huge vegetable garden and weeding that is a full time job. LOL!!
Congratulations on all your awards. I have seen the Bella award on a few blogs. I too miss Bella. Do you know if anyone has heard from her yet?
Carolyn congratulatios and I couldn't think of anyone who deserve the Bella award more.
ReplyDeleteI know that you and Bella are dear friends.
Love Renee xoxo
Hi Catherine,
ReplyDeleteI love the photo too, it looks so elegant.
Yes, we did have fun and I think I will get her to help me with mine.
Hi Carol,
Thanks for visiting - it must be so nice having a vegetable garden. We tried one year and there was just not enough rain (we rely on tank water) to keep the plants alive.
I have not heard from Bella and I think of her often.
Hi Renee,
Thank you so much.
This award meant so much to me and yes, Bella is a dear friend to us all.
Hugs
Carolyn

I picked up 4 magazines yesterday and haven't opened one yet-too much blog stuff to do-maybe in a bit.

I am sure it is fun receiving awards and having people let you know that your blog means something to them. There seem to be a lot of fun awards out there and one day I hope to be honored with some of them.

PS I have a cousin who is a missionary in New Zealand.
My 2nd son is wanting his room decorated in an Australian rain forest theme so I am looking for things to do his room in so he can enjoy a new look.
Hi Cheri,
ReplyDeleteI hope that you can sit down with a cup of tea and start on your magazines. How neat that you have 4 waiting to be looked at.
I wonder where in NZ your Cousin is?
That sounds like a fun theme for your Sons bedroom ~ good luck with that.
Hugs
Carolyn
It seems like everyone is cleaning out lately and trying to get rid of anything extra! Congratulations on your awards. I love Victoria magazine too, and the first picture is really lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ele, for visiting.
ReplyDeleteAlways good to eliminate things you do not want. I am the biggest hoarder but I think if you have a Gok or someone like that to say you have a keeper or throw away, is a good idea.
