My Heart

Millie from the Laurelhedge
recently tagged me to play along with .... My heart.
thank you very much and it will be fun to play along.
All I have to do is post a photo that best represents my heart.

This is a photo of my Grandmother. (They never seemed to smile for photographs back then)
I was thinking what has shaped my life ~ It made me think of my dear Grandmother who was so loving, gentle and kind. Then there is my own lovely Mother who is beautiful too.

We would love to go and spend holidays at my Grandparents and used to have fun.
If it was a wet day my Grandma used to let us play on her little Singer sewing machine and we would whip up little clothes for our dolls. We would spend the summer days playing out in the garden and climbing the apple trees in the orchard and Grandad would help us make huts.

I was lucky to grow up in a safe and loving home. Our childhood was carefree, where we could be children and play outdoors all day. They were wonderful and happy days.

My heart is happy now, when I am able to spend time with my family and beautiful children.
I was thinking we move up a step to now be the role model and Mother and now it is my turn
to I hope have a few of these qualities, that both my Grandma had and my Mother has.

Now, only of you want to I have to tag some others, if you are interested.
Understand if you are too busy.

  5. What a beautiful post! I love old family photos and the one of your Grandmother is adorable. She looked like quite the little lady! I've always been fascinated by the history of the women in my family, possibly because we all share that female "bond". Thanks for sharing and have a loveleigh evening.

  29. Hi Carolyn, Isn't it wonderful to have those happy memories of Grandma's house. That is the very thing I'm trying to do for my little ones. You are a darling child in that photo. You're right about your grandmother being beautiful.

  30. hi Jennifer,

Glad that you are feeling better after having the cold.
It is dried lavender in the little vase. I hang it upside down to dry and it seems to last and keep the purple colour.

    Hi June,

Love it that you have your little Grandchildren and the happy memories they will have of being at your house.
I loved the photo of your Grandchildren you shared in a post and you must be so very proud of them. They are all beautiful.

  31. Family photos, what precious treasures they are! My nana lived with us until she died when I was 8. She taught me to knit. I think the most wonderful thing about grandparents is that they are kind and seem to have endless patience with youngsters, often when parents are so busy earning a living.

  39. What a lovely post. Your grandmother and your mother taught you very well.

Those of us who grew up in safe happy homes where we were free to be kids (you phrased that so well)....it makes me wish and pray all the more that all the children of this world should have this happiness too. I do wish everyone felt this way.
