Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass ~ it's about learning to dance in the rain.
Does this happen to you? ~ you go away for a few days and came back to find 104 emails in your Inbox! So I am now wading through them, trying to play catch up!
On Sunday morning we woke to hear the news that our Woolworths Supermarket had caught fire. The building was well ablaze when the firefighters arrived at 9.30 pm, Saturday.
As this is the Island's only large Supermarket and it will be closed until further notice, will be an inconvenience. I am catching the ferry today, to get groceries in the City and will come back with canvas bags filled with groceries. We do have small dairies but they are much more expensive.
I hope that you have a wonderful weekend

Hi Carolyn, I love this post. The pics are wonderful. So sorry to hear about your Woolworths supermarket. I hope they can rebuild quickly so you don't have to go to the city so often. I know the small little markets are much more expensive.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the tag. I so enjoyed reading the 6 things that make you happy. Just wonderful parts of life. I will play along soon when I get caught up. Thank you so much, it will be fun.

What a terrible thing to have happened - and now such an inconvenience for you. I do hope no one was hurt in the fire.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos and take your time with the emails. They aren't going anywhere.
Very sweet!!
ReplyDeleteYou have a great weekend too!
Rosemary
The pictures are sweet:). I hope that your local Woolworth's is rebuilt quickly!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Kim
A lovely positive post in the face of 'grocery adversity'! Oh well, nothing much you can do Carolyn but look at it as an additional way to exercise with all those heavy shopping bags. Enrol your family's help, after all they eat as well, don't they!
ReplyDeleteMillie ^_^
Hi Dolores,
ReplyDeleteI agree, the emails are not going anywhere and will get on to them in the weekend.
I heard one of the firefighters had to seek medical help but is going to be fine.
thank you for visiting Rosemary ~ Queen of the Crown! I hope that you are having a great Crown day!
thanks Kim, we have been told that it is going to be about 8 weeks to rebuild and have things running again.
Hi Millie,
I went across on the 3pm ferry and met my husband and son and between the three of us we were pack horses together. The really funny part about it, is you see everyone else doing the same thing.
Just making home made pizzas for our dinner tonight, so all is good here!

Hi Carolyn, Catching up on my friends again. How were your Mum and Dad? I took Mum and Uncle Doug to Nelson and they had a really great trip, but I am so tired haha. Loved the photos and the phrase. I might borrow that one.. it's so true.
ReplyDeleteHi Karen,
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday for the 9th my friend. I will come on over to your blog and visit you.
I had to go down to see Dad and Mum.
Dad is not very good - had the Prostate operation a few months ago.
he has been to the Doctor for some more tests.

There are indeed the kind of photos that make you feel all soft and mushy on the inside.
ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear about the fire. It makes it harder when you have to travel farther for things. I hope the store fixes up quickly. The pictures are so sweet, I love the elephant one. hugs to you and have a wonderful weekend! Jennifer : )
Hi Laura,
ReplyDeleteThey are lovely photos aren't they and we need things like this to look at, when there are so many horrible things in the newspaper and on TV.
Hi Jennifer,
Thanks for visiting.
I read in the paper that it could be 8 weeks to rebuild. We will get by though, will have to.
It is strange how you only buy the things on the list as I often tend to stock up on things.
