Sculptures pop up

the Seagulls fly about in the breeze

Today was another beautiful sunny day so my lovely husband took me out to lunch in the village.

this one is made from old machinery parts

Over the summer holidays an outdoor Exhibition features works by local Waiheke Artists, amongst the shops and cafes. Here are a few that caught my eye and would like to share them with you.

the goblet was made from vine branches

The Island is a popular destination for holiday makers and tourists to come and enjoy the sunshine, beaches and the laid back atmosphere.

I want to thank you again for your kind visits and friendship.
Because the weather has been so pleasant here I have not spent much time sitting down at the computer. I do look forward to coming over to visit you soon.

This tandem bike with the picnic basket which you can rent, would be a fun way to get around and see the Island
Hope all is well and you are enjoying a wonderful week.
hugs
Carolyn

  3. Fantastic sculptures. I always admire the talent artists can achieve with what would be land fill. I love the wine goblet, so next time I prune my vine, I'll have to be a bit more adventurous than just making wreaths.
    Enjoy your beautiful sunshine.

  12. These sculptures are all so interesting. I really enjoy visiting sculpture gardens and exhibitions. When I was in San Francisco last year, I really enjoyed the outdoor sculptures at the deYoung Museum. My favorite was a gigantic safety pin, I think it was about two stories tall. I love seeing really absurd pieces like that, as well as the more fanciful, artistic ones. Thanks for sharing your day out.

  25. Love the sea Gulls, I have lot's of Gulls every morning, I feed them and
they pay me a visit every morning. There is just something about the sea air, but today, it is strange, because we are getting a Nor easter blizzard tomorrow, can feel it in my bones, also big tides are expected here on the Maine midcoast. yvonne

  27. You are SO lucky to live in such a lovely place Carolyn! But I bet you don't need me to tell you that :))) The sculptures are interesting and so creative. I live near a famous US ski resort (40 miles)and in the summer it's fun to go there and walk around and see the sculptures on display along walks. Some are good and some I just don't get. It would be fun to meet the artist behind them.
I hope you have a wonderful week sweetie!
    much love...
