Over the summer holidays an outdoor Exhibition features works by local Waiheke Artists, amongst the shops and cafes. Here are a few that caught my eye and would like to share them with you.

The Island is a popular destination for holiday makers and tourists to come and enjoy the sunshine, beaches and the laid back atmosphere.
I want to thank you again for your kind visits and friendship.
Because the weather has been so pleasant here I have not spent much time sitting down at the computer. I do look forward to coming over to visit you soon.
This tandem bike with the picnic basket which you can rent, would be a fun way to get around and see the Island
Hope all is well and you are enjoying a wonderful week.
hugs
Carolyn

What a great way to display art. I especially like the restaurant scene made from rusty parts. As always I find the views on your island just amazing.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend, dear Carolyn.
Hugs,
Julia
Fantastic sculptures. I always admire the talent artists can achieve with what would be land fill. I love the wine goblet, so next time I prune my vine, I'll have to be a bit more adventurous than just making wreaths.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your beautiful sunshine.
This is a lovely place to spend a relaxing holiday in the sun. The sculpture of the seagulls is perfect with the beach setting nearby. Enjoy the sunshine Carolyn.
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL PICS!!
ReplyDeleteWe have a sculpture exhibition happening at one of our beaches at the moment. They will be there for a week, so I am trying to make time to go down and take some photos I love what your sculptors have done.

Big hug,

Dear Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteFirst, did you rent a tandem bike? Oh what fun that would be.
The sculptures are just amazing... Sounds like such a enjoyable day, and the sky looks so beautiful...
You just enjoy yourself out side.... Thank you so much for sharing these beautiful photos.
Blessings,
Penny
These sculptures are all so interesting. I really enjoy visiting sculpture gardens and exhibitions. When I was in San Francisco last year, I really enjoyed the outdoor sculptures at the deYoung Museum. My favorite was a gigantic safety pin, I think it was about two stories tall. I love seeing really absurd pieces like that, as well as the more fanciful, artistic ones. Thanks for sharing your day out.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely day! Beautiful sculptures but the tandem bike caught my eyes...very romantic idea for a pic nic.Enjoy your time.

Hi Carolyn, wonderful sculptures around the island. It looks like gorgeous weather and beautiful blue skies to enjoy. How fun to take a ride on the tandem bike. I used to ride one with a friend when I was growing up.

I love to see art so alive in the wide open like this for all to enjoy! How fantastic! And that piece made out of vine branches is just spectacular! Keep taking in these beautiful days pal!! Nicole xoxo
ReplyDeleteThe sculptures are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove the sea Gulls, I have lot's of Gulls every morning, I feed them and
ReplyDeletethey pay me a visit every morning. There is just something about the sea air, but today, it is strange, because we are getting a Nor easter blizzard tomorrow, can feel it in my bones, also big tides are expected here on the Maine midcoast. yvonne
Carolyn it looks like you had a wonderful day exploring the area. The sculptures are lovely! Have a great week ahead.
ReplyDeleteYou are SO lucky to live in such a lovely place Carolyn! But I bet you don't need me to tell you that :))) The sculptures are interesting and so creative. I live near a famous US ski resort (40 miles)and in the summer it's fun to go there and walk around and see the sculptures on display along walks. Some are good and some I just don't get. It would be fun to meet the artist behind them.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful week sweetie!
much love...
Dearest Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteI think I may be moving to New Zealand in future. The weather on your island looks so beautiful. I can use some of your sun and warmth on this grey January day in Rotterdam.
