Portraits of an Icon
While in London, we had the wonderful opportunity to go along to see the Exhibition that was held in the National Portrait Gallery, of the very beautiful Audrey Hepburn.
The exhibition showed her life, from the rise as a West End chorus girl, wonderful actress, fashion icon and then her philanthropic and humanitarian work in her later life.
Here are some important life lessons and quotes from Audrey Hepburn
Seize the day
Pick the day. Enjoy it to the hilt. The day as it comes. People as they come. The past I think, has helped me appreciate the present and I don't want to spoil any of it by fretting about the future.
Be happy
I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.
The most important thing is to enjoy your life, to be happy is all that matters.
Believe in Yourself
Nothing is impossible, the word itself says I'm possible.
I decided very early on just to accept life unconditionally; I never expected it to do anything special for me, yet I seemed to accomplish far more than I had ever hoped. Most of the time it just happened to me without my ever seeking it.
Step outside your comfort zone
I was asked to act when I couldn't act. I was asked to sing 'Funny Face' when I couldn't sing and dance with Fred Astaire when I couldn't dance and do all kind of things I wasn't prepared for.
Then I tried like mad to cope with it.
Always think of other people
As you grow older, you will discover you have two hands, one for helping yourself, the other for helping others.
So terribly sad and appalled to hear the news of what has happened in Paris.
My thoughts and prayers go out at this time.
Auckland Sky Tower will join other iconic buildings and light up the colours of the French flag to show solidarity in the wake of todays attacks and in one small way to show how much we care.
hugs
Carolyn
