Les fleurs pour vous

Bonjour dear friends,
I am back and so very happy to be back home.
Still feeling the effects from jet-lag and that long haul flight is arduous spending so much time in the aeroplane.
Have experienced such a wonderful holiday with so many great memories and photos to look back on and hope to share a few with you soon.
Towards the end, the four weeks away seemed  to be a long time and all I wanted was to get back to our children, to be able to sleep in my own bed and get back into a routine again.
The past two mornings, my  body clock woke me at 4am and the only thing to do was get up and make a cup of tea.

Hope all is well with you and that you are enjoying a lovely weekend
Will be good to come and say hello to you soon.
hugs
Carolyn

  17. Hello Carolyn!
So glad you had a lovely time, I'm looking forward to your photos. Getting over jet lag takes a few days, but I know it's probably gone already. No matter how much fun I've had, I'm always glad to get home to my normal routine, so I know how you feel.

  18. Dearest Carolyn,
As much as we look forward to any trip, away from home and everything, there is always that longing to go back home and that is a positive sign! For heaven's sake if that would not be the case.
We too went away for four nights to New York City where we actually never ever stayed in those 32 years of living in the USA. But that was enough of admiring great architecture and seeing numerous skyscrapers.
The only thing that stood out and was mind boggling was the size of Central Park, as I never would have thought it woud be THAT huge! There I would love to bike and walk but for that you must live nearby and have a bike on hand etc.
Pieter's condition is such that after a 20 minute walk he is getting tired, not the same since he had his heart cramps in January around my Mom's death... So we had to do things at a slower pace and we used the bus for sightseeing with a tour. Far better and no stress!
But as you said, the fond memoires, all the photos and other things, that will stay with us, long after our biological clock has adjusted again to the daily routine!
I've been awake last night for 3 hours, due to heavy rain... We had such lovely weather and a dream like performance by Chloe Agnew, who was for 10 years with Celtic Woman, together with The Atlanta Pops Orchestra that only 8 days previously performed at our local theatre. Also a famous dancer from River Dance performed on the music of Lord of the Dance and several duets with an Irish tenor. A real treat and we had our hotel only 4 miles down the road. A perfect Sunday away and yesterday we went to Costco Wholesale and made the rounds for stocking up. Preparing for my next Etiquette Class this Saturday, including dinner for 12 young participants.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  21. Merci beaucoup pur des fleurs, cherie :o))

I’m glad to hear that you got back from France well and had a wonderful time there, dearest Carolyn! You know I love to travel, but like you I also love to get back home. And I’m always a victim of jetlag, too ;o)) I hope you will be able to sleep „normal“ soon! And I’m curious to see the photos of your trip!

    Lots of hugs, my dear,

    Traude
