It's the weekend again!
Hello dear friends,
After a busy week, it is great to have the weekend here again and a long weekend for us.
A trip to the dentist, {another appointment scheduled on Tuesday for a crown,} sigh! don't you just hate having to see the dentist, sewing an outfit for a friends 50th birthday we have been invited to and hope to be able to show you the finished outfit soon.
Here in New Zealand, it is Waitangi Day named after the town of Waitangi, which is located in the Bay of Islands and where the Treaty was first signed.
The restored Treaty House, once belonging to James Busby
Held each year on the 6th of February to celebrate the signing of the Treaty between the Maori and the British Crown, NZ's founding document on that date back in 1840.
Te Whare Runanga {the house of assembly} the interior of the carved meeting house
Due to the weather looks like it is going to be an indoor one here.
We badly need rain as the garden is dry and water tank is running low, so we welcome a shower of rain.
Hope you manage to relax and take a little time for yourself this weekend
hugs
Carolyn

Hello Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your celebration weekend!
Bad luck having to visit the dentist......but, you are in good company as we are in the same position.
The old photograph is such fun.
Hello Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteThank you for welcoming me back to Bloggland – it’s good to be back.
I’m in the process of having new crowns too. The preparatory work is done, but I’ve still got a little while to go before it’s finished. I really don’t like the dentist, and I dislike the bills even more!
I love the photo of the pansies; we have a while to wait before they flower again so it’s lovely to see them on your blog. I enjoyed reading about Waitangi Day. I must admit it’s something I had not heard about before. Enjoy the day and the weekend.
Love Barbara x
Visits to the dentist are never ever pleasant:) Well, with the exceptions if he/she says everything is OK:)
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend!
I always hate February so I loved seeing those beautiful pansies, as it's our winter month they are making me look forward even more to spring. I won't mention the dentist , oops I did. Enjoy your week end out doors.

They are such a happy little flower, and I love the feel of the petals.

I am still working on the little bear... Have not picked his name yet.... Want to wait till he is finished. Thank you for your name suggestion...

I love pansies with their sweet little faces. The first pot of flowers I always buy in the spring. Happy long weekend and good luck at the dentist. Love Jeanne
ReplyDeleteDearest Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteHow lovely and you are looking forward to some real special events!
Yes, I finally managed to have a long and deep night sleep after weeks of poor resting due to the time difference between The Netherlands and the USA; dealing with Mom's illness and later her death.
So yesterday we had a relaxed and very lovely day with a perfect gift for my birthday; a 5-course dinner by lady chef Maria at our local Italian Ristorante da Maria. We felt pampered and happy with so much love. The outpour by friends the world over has helped me so much in coping with this across 8,436 km. So I'm way behind as I did reply to all the comments on FB and LinkedIn and now back to my blogging friends...
Hugs,
Mariette

Hello Carolyn!
ReplyDeleteNice to catch up again. I don't like the dentist either...just had a crown myself. Why do we feel like a sacrificial lamb in that chair?
Hope you get the rain you need, your beautiful pansies would be happy too. :)

Hi Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear that you have to have a crown put in. Having had that done a few times ~ I had a problem with one and had to have it redone :\ I will attest to the fact that it's NO fun whatsoever!
Your little flowers look so sweet and I am glad to hear you are receiving some much needed rain .. even if it falls on this event. We have had continuous rain here in Washington state and it would be nice to have a little break!
Enjoy your day:) xxleslie
Hello Carolyn! Im sorry for the dentist, I know what you mean, hate to go there too! The holiday is very nice, interesting history and celebration. We need rain too here, otherwise they say wont have water next summer. Happy Sunday dear xo

ReplyDeletePoo Carolyn, I really hate to see dentist, so I'm with you on your trip there! Instead that celebration is very interesting, I've never heard of it before! :)

Beautiful pansies! I hope you have a wonderful weekend - sometimes a rainy weekend is a great time to rest and relax. I'm back blogging and hope you'll stop by and say hello!

Never fun visiting the dentist, I know! Interesting post and lovely pictures again...
ReplyDeleteHave a happy weekend and take care,
Titti
I enlarged your photo of the interior of the carved meeting house. It is truly magnificent and so intricate. Your pansies have great colors, too.
ReplyDeleteThe best part of going to the dentist for me is the twilight gas! grins. I had a cracked tooth worked on and I looked forward to the gas that they offered to help me relax so I hope all goes well for you. It isn't one of my favorite places to visit, but sure am glad we have dentist these days. They can sure help us out with dental issues. All the best to you.
