It's December again!
After days of changeable weather, today we have glorious weather and it is starting to almost feel like summer at last.
Yesterday I put together an Ikea foot step, something I have wanted to buy for a long while, to be able to reach the top shelf in the pantry.
What I thought would only take half an hour to screw together, I ended up spending a lot of my afternoon. Have any of you had the frustrating task of assembling a piece of furniture?
The little chair is made from the cage and lid of a Champagne bottle - it is a little wonky but was fun to make. The Moet & Chandon label is appropriate for us, Martin and Carolyn
My first effort was so bad when I looked at the photo, so decided to make another - be careful though as the wire is very sharp
There is an Annual Champagne contest, so get creative and see what you can make with a cork and piece of wire. Will share the link with the incredible things that others have created from recycled parts of the champagne bottle.
I will be in the garden and make the most of my day
Hope that you all have a wonderful week
hugs
Carolyn
The little chair is adorable and it usually takes me a lot longer to accomplish things than I expect. Hope you've enjoyed your day! It was nice here in Florida. Hugs, Diane

ReplyDeleteIt sounds so strange for me that you celebrate Christmas in the middle of the summer! It must be a wonderful although unsual - for us - experience.Your wreath is beautiful and yes, I have also spent a whole day to assemble "simple" pieces of furniture bought mainly from Ikea!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy warm, sunny days dear Carolyn!
Wish you the best!

ReplyDeleteHa ha yes that's why I don't buy furniture that needs to be put together because my husband has to do it and he is not the most patient person lol. Xoxo
ReplyDeleteDearest Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteGlad you finally did get that footstool together. Oh, in the description it sounds like only a SNAP but in reality it more often is quite a handful of work to be done!
Love your M & C pieces and quite appropriate indeed for both of you.
Sending you hugs,
Mariette
