Stopping to smell the roses

Nothing is so beautiful as Spring, with its symbolism of renewal and regrowth.
From baby lambs frolicking in the paddocks to birds in a nest,  pretty flowers making an appearance and a way of saying farewell to winter.

From the window I was excited to see my new Cecil Brunner climbing rose making her debut, growing up an obelisk on the balcony.

At our last home I had it growing and have wanted to grow this sweet little rose again.
I adore the small exquisitely formed pale pink rosebuds and it even has the sweetest fragrance.
Sometimes this dear little rose is known as the 'Sweetheart Rose'

Today seems like a good day to stop and smell the roses

Thanks for stopping by.
I'm ever so thankful for my thoughtful readers and wonderful friends I've made through my blog.
Have a wonderful week
hugs
Carolyn

  10. How nice to see your rose, and the new growth of spring arriving for you. I'm putting my garden to sleep now ready for when the cold frosts of winter arrives. I'll be planting bulbs soon if I can manage to bend down long enough..

  15. Your sweet rose is delightful Carolyn! Isn't it a delightful surprise when a rose has a scent? In the Palais royal gardens in Paris there are these divine raspberry hued roses which smell delicious! Ahh, such happy moments.

  19. lucky you....we've already had a killing frost and a huge snowfall a few weeks past...which wrecked thousands of trees in our city...they are still cleaning up huge branches and downed trees.
This past two weeks has been brilliant and like a second summer...but, it is cooler at night...and, sooooon..... it will be our winter..... for many months..... I'll have to find some flowers in the shops......

  36. Good morning sweet Rose!

As you are enjoying the pink of spring, I just came inside (it's 5:00AM) from seeing the lunar eclipse. It is OCTOBER for us, a different type of October than yours.....but what a wonder that we share the same "home" but on different ends. Happy light and newness to you, as we celebrate the sunset of summer. Anita

  49. I’ve just cut the last of the roses, dahlias and sweet peas, and they are now residing in a pretty jug in the kitchen. Autumn is very definitely in the air in the UK, and it won’t be long before the frost kills everything. Your pink rose is incredibly pretty, how lovely to know that its spring time somewhere in the world. Happy Weekend, Barbara.
