French Doors

La grande porte was at the Versaille Palace
Today I would like to share some grand doors that caught my eye

When we were in France there was something fun about walking around the streets, on the look out for beautiful doors.

There is never a shortage of fabulous door photo opportunities.

Made me wonder what was behind the doors we passed by... I guess beautiful interiors, furniture and inspiration.

Last but not least was Number 22 with the sweet heart carved on the door, had a welcoming look

I do hope that you are enjoying your weekend and wish you a happy week ahead
hugs
Carolyn

  6. Doors, especially French ones, have intrigued me since childhood. Being shy but at the same time, CURIOUS and bold (if that is possible for a shy kid), I would take off around the corner to explore the beautiful homes that were there. I'd knock on doors at the age of 4-5, and ask to go in. teeehee....one nice lady allowed me into her home and gave me milk and brownies, but I was more interested in the sunken in living room, the wood panels on the wall, and the huge medieval style door.

What is behind many doors is humanity, and that is always an adventure to discover. Have FUN MY FRIEND!

Lovely to see those doors of your collection. I like all of them, especially the blue door in the forth is my favorite. The poem by Pablo Picasso is so wonderful. I loved to read that very much. What a beautiful poem.

  39. Carolyn,
I have a thing for doors too. We are so alike in many ways, my friend. These are so pretty, and I love that first picture with the French doors. The heart-shaped door is also very nice. Wouldn't that be special if it was carved for a loved one? Thanks for sharing these, and the quote is such a beautiful one.

    love,

One of the things I have learned to appreciate in France is that behind those great doors there are beauties to discover.

  53. Love that heart door!
I also notice the doors whenever we travel and many treasured pictures of ones that caught my eye whilst wandering the streets of a lovely town or village. I'm told there is a photography book of European doors - my brother was telling me about it but I haven't found it yet...

  54. I like your selection of doors. I also take photos of doors when I see some nice old ones – there are many too in Venice, Italy. Modern doors just don’t have the same appeal, don’t they?
