Out and about in the village

A replica model of the Bean Rock lighthouse

Every time we catch the ferry to the City we pass by the old wooden cottage type lighthouse that warns ships and boats about the rocks and reef at the entrance to the Waitemata Harbour, Auckland.
love the native grasses shimmering in the breeze

There is nothing nicer than on a beautiful summers day, to get out and enjoy it.
That is what I did with my family at the weekend, we walked around Oneroa village after brunch and here are some of the sights.
A pair of tui's and sweet dd
Waiheke is home to some wonderful artists and over the summer months they have been displaying their creative work and sculptures  all around the village. Visitors and locals are able to check out the installations, which are all available for sale.

The Beehive - the common name for the Executive wing of the New Zealands parliament buildings.
Even had a little pool of honey like substance coming out of the hive, at the bottom.

Here is just a small taste of village life here, this summer.

Maybe some time to do some shopping and who would like a gelato?

thank you so much for stopping by.
Enjoy the rest of the week
